Children's Puppet Show: May 16, 10am
The Little Hedgehog: A puppet show about the importance of kind speech, inclusion, and friendship. Each child will receive a small gift. All in attendance can enter to win a large hedgehog stuffed animal. This performance is free and open to the public. The offering will benefit Lutheran Services Carolinas New American Program.

Successful Tierney Sutton and Tamir Hendelman Concert
We had over 180 guest attend the Jazz Concert featuring Tierney Sutton and pianist Tamir Hendelman on Monday 4/27! With the generous contributions from our guest, we will be sending Living Waters Food Pantry roughly $1300 to continue their mission in Cherokee, NC. Thank you for your continued support of our community partner.

New Adult Faith Formation class starting this Sunday!
Hard Faith Questions: Everything You Wanted To Know But Were Afraid To Ask.
The hope is that we are joined in our conversation by the Holy Spirit and we discover how it is our fears, not our doubts, that are the opposite of faith. Examples: Why does prayer not seem to work for me? Why do bad things happen to good people? Is Christianity the only path to salvation? Join Ken Lane in the Library this Sunday!

MMIW Awareness Day
May 5 is The National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives. Please make sure to stop by the red dress display in the commons this Sunday. This is an opportunity to honor the lives lost and to raise awareness about working toward lasting safety and justice for all missing and murdered Indigenous women and their relatives.

MDTMT Raffle Baskets
Submit by May 15th
Calling all generous hearts!! St. Mark's RHT and WNCBF Church need YOU to put together a basket for our raffle to benefit the My Daddy Taught Me That Track Team. These can be fun, practical, silly, over-the-top, or very simple. You can design one individually or with a group. We had so much fun AND success with these last year that we cannot wait to see what you all come up with this time. The raffle will be on the day of our event, May 30. We would love for everyone to check out your creations well in advance, so please have your baskets at the church by Friday, May 15. Questions, comments, concerns? Signs of God’s Love
Three yard signs went up at the church this week at the request of the Christian Action Team and with the approval of the congregation council. The signs echo the biblical call for love of neighbor (Lev 19:18 Mat 22:39; Mk 12; Rom 13:9; Gal 5:14) and care for immigrants (for a good start to the dozens of passages on caring for the alien, immigrant, and stranger see Ex 22:21; Lev 19:9-10, 33-34; Jer 22:3; Zec 7:10; Mat 25:35; Rom 12:13). We expect to display the signs through the end of May as a reminder about how we are called to live out God’s love for one another.

Lutheridge Summer Camp - Scholarships Available
Faith based summer camp is one of the best ways to instill faith in young people, and St. Mark’s wants to help your child(ren) attend camp this summer. We are blessed to have Lutheridge, Lutherock, and Camp Agape all right here in NC, and if your child(ren) attends one of these Lutheran camps, St. Mark’s will contribute $300 per child towards their registration fee. Did you know that Lutheridge offers SUMMER DAY CAMP???
Campers who have completed Kindergarten-5th grade are invited to Day Camp at Lutheridge! Our on-site Day Camp is staffed by trained college-age counselors with one supervising Area Director each week. Activities each day may include: pool, crafts, archery, canoes, nature hike, scavenger hunts, field games, slip n slide, indoor climbing wall, the Lutheridge store and snack bar, various sports and more! Throughout all activities, children will be reminded that they are beloved by God. Drop off at 8:00am. Pick up at 4:30pm. (closing program and pick up at 3:00pm on Friday). Breakfast and lunch are included daily.
