Join us for a special screening of Ahimsa: Gandhi: The Power of the Powerless, a powerful film on Mahatma Gandhi and the transformative power of non-violence, this Saturday, April 5 in the Fellowship Hall.
Dinner starts at 5:30 p.m. – Bring a dish to share and enjoy a warm meal as we gather in community, including our Family Promise Guests.
The film starts at 6:30 p.m. – Experience a deeply moving journey through history, from Gandhi’s legacy to the civil rights movement and beyond.

| | | | REMEMBERING LARRY HAUBROCK | A memorial service for one of Dayspring's founding members, Larry Haubrock, will be held this Saturday, April 5, at 11:00am in the Tempe Sanctuary. Please keep his wife Beverly, his family and friends in your prayers during this difficult time. The service will be livestreamed HERE. | | | | UWFaith SHOE DRIVE - ENDING! | Collection extended! Dayspring United Women in Faith are collecting gently worn, used and new shoes to support services to the homeless, women and children in need. Collected shoes not only support these missions, but they will be reused and given a second life in developing countries. Donation boxes can be found in the narthex (lobby) now through April 6. Last year we were able to provide funds to help climate and energy justice programs. This year our organization is needed more than ever to help our world with diversity, equality and inclusion for all of God's children. | | | | RELIGION, DEMOCRACY & TRUTH: A Conversation with David French | What is the relationship between truth and democracy? On Easter Sunday, Dayspring will once again be filled with beautiful spring flowers. Each flower is given as a memorial to or in honor of special loved ones or friends. In addition, gifts may also be made to UMCOR, the United Methodist Committee on Relief, in lieu of a plant. Both of these gifts will be listed in our Easter print and digital bulletins and shown during Easter services.
The cost per flower (Tulips, Gerbera Daisies, Easter Lilies, etc.) is $20.00. This would also be a good guideline for your gift to UMCOR, though any gift is welcome. The deadline is 12 noon on Monday, April 14. Please fill out the form HERE or reply to this email for assistance.
| | | | We'll host a Family Holy Week Event (and dinner!) on Wednesday, April 15, at 6:00 p.m. Services on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday also begin at 6:00 p.m. Then on Easter morning, we’ll have services at 8:30 and 10:00 in Tempe and 11:00 in Arcadia. Any kind of dry dog or cat food (puppy/kitten or adult) is greatly needed. You can donate through their Amazon wish list or drop off items in the narthex. Thank you for your generosity!

Several members of churches around the country, including our own, have received fake emails from alleged church staff requesting emergency financial assistance of some kind - usually in the form of gift cards. These emails do not come from a validated church email account, (ours will always end in “@dayspring-umc.org"). THESE E-MAILS ARE FRAUDULENT. If you ever receive an email like this, please do not respond to the email or communicate with the sender in any way.
Nancy Juarez from the State Attorney General’s Office recently joined us to present information on how to protect yourself from fraud, warning signs it might be a scam, and common scams to look out for. Watch her presentation HERE.
