A Message From Mrs. Hytjan

Dear Families,

Tomorrow is the first of May and we begin the last month of school. How can that be? I continue to be so grateful to for your support, kindness, and patience; you and your families have endured so many ‘unexpected conditions’ this year! From three different learning models, to quarantined staff and students, to social distancing and mask wearing, you have stood right next to us as we teach our students and serve our families in the best way we know how. I am so proud and feel so fortunate to be the leader of this amazing school community. Always know I am here to support you.

Upcoming Spring Events are being scheduled, however, only students and staff will be able to attend. We are still working out a few details for the Picnic, Celebration of Learning, and Walk of Honor (honoring our Fifth and Sixth Graders).

In our typical Forest Hills fashion, we will continue to stay strong right up until the end of May. Thank you for supporting your child(ren) in ‘staying the course’ until May 28. Should you need anything as we approach the end of this school year, please reach out.

Kindergarten Welcome Event

Parents/guardians are invited to bring their incoming kindergartner for a safe, fun visit at their school. Families will have the opportunity to tour the building, take a ride on the school bus, play on the playground, and get answers to questions before the school year begins. We are continuing to follow our safety protocols that have been in place all school year. This includes requiring face masks for all attendees, thorough cleaning procedures, and practicing social distancing. Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout our buildings and students practice frequent handwashing.

Families who prefer to attend our virtual event will hear from the principal and other staff, see a few common spaces in the building, and participate in a live Q&A session. We hope to see you on May 4!

Covid-19 Home Test Kits Available to Families

The State of Minnesota is providing Covid-19 tests that can be done entirely in the comfort of your own home. If you think you've been exposed to Covid-19, you can find out more information about the test kits on the Minnesota Department of Health website.
