Spiritual Spring Cleaning: Tidying Up Your Heart, Mind, and Spirit
"Sparking Joy in Your SPIRIT"
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope." That is a tall order considering the times in which we live. However, it is absolutely, positively, one hundred percent possible! And Dr. King knew that. Join Rev. Anne for the conclusion of her three-part talk series, Spiritual Spring Cleaning: Tidying Up Your Heart, Mind, and Spirit, as we look at the transformational mechanics of how to spark infinite hope and joy in your spirit!
|
As we enter into Holy Week, Palm Sunday reminds us that just as Jesus began to prepare the way for resurrection by making his triumphal ride into Jerusalem on a colt, we also have the potential to create our own opportunities for restoration and renewal. Join Rev. Anne as she takes us through the steps that can lead to spiritual awakening! For as our Master Teacher told us, "The one who believes in me will do the works that I do, and, in fact, will do greater works than these."

Maundy Thursday:

journey. We look forward to sharing this sacred space with you.

 Easter Sunday
"Rise Above"
Sunday, April 21, 2019
11am, Rev. Anne Tabor
In Unity, the deeper meaning of Easter represents new beginnings and our ability to "cross out" old ways of thinking. This is a powerful story of rebirth! But before we have a resurrection in our life--it is almost always preceded by a crucifixion--a circumstance that is painful and difficult. Yet it is during these trying times of trial and tribulation that we must hold to the Divine Idea that there is something greater happening in us and for us. Join Rev. Anne for an inspirational look at the Easter story and how awakening to the Christ Spirit within is the perfect guide for your personal transformation to rise above any obstacle!

YFM Easter Service Project
Collection of Donations ends
this Sunday, April 7, 2019
Each year the YFM has a service project at Easter. This year we are making birthday bags for Community Crossroads. Community Crossroads provides a food pantry, clothing, dental services, and much more. A birthday bag will provide someone with the items needed to celebrate his or her birthday. YFM is accepting donations for the bags. We will decorate the bags and place items in each one. We do not need bags...only the items to go in the bags.
Below is a list of items each bag must have and items that can be added.
Please bring the items you are donating to the Admin Building no later than April 7. Weekday office hours for the Admin Building are Tuesday-Thursday, 10-4. As always, we thank you for your love and support.
Needed for each bag:
cake mix (prefer white or chocolate)
tub of icing
small bottle of oil
Other items we can use:
plates and cups (birthday themes)
birthday decorations
party hats
candles
aluminum cake pans
party horns or noisemakers

 Membership Classes
Tuesdays, May 14th & May 21st
7pm-9pm in GLC, Rev. Anne Tabor
Unity of Arlington is a loving, thriving spiritual community that welcomes all people and honors all paths to enlightenment. We would love to have you join as an official member! Membership is not required for attending services or serving at Unity of Arlington. However, we encourage it as a way for an individual to commit to his or her own spiritual growth, and make meaningful connections with like-minded people in faith.
Active members attend services regularly, participate in events, invest their time and talents in our church, attend classes, and contribute their financial gifts to Unity of Arlington. Members also participate in voting on important church matters. Classes required for membership are offered in two parts and will cover: Unity Basics, Unity Prayer, and Membership Basics. There will also be a time for questions and discussion. To become a member, attendance is required at both classes.
Becoming a member culminates in a sacred blessing from our spiritual community during our celebration service on New Member Sunday, June 9, 2019, led by Reverend Anne Tabor. Please use the sheet in the sanctuary foyer or call the church office (817-467-5151) to add your name to the sign-up list.
|
Reverend Anne Tabor, M.Div., is available by appointment for spiritual counseling sessions at Unity of Arlington in a safe and supportive environment. As an ordained Unity minister, Rev. Anne, offers spiritual counseling to individuals seeking
a deeper understanding of themselves and their divine power within to solve life's challenges. Spiritual counseling can help if there is a need for inspiration, crisis support, or healing in any area of your life. Prayer and meditation are an integral part of Unity's spiritual principles, and an essential practice in realizing the answers we seek. We believe in the transformative power of affirmative prayer. You are a unique expression of God. Spiritual counseling will remind you of that!
Spiritual counseling is offered on a love offering basis. While no specific fee is expected or suggested, we do invite each person to leave a love offering. For more details, please call the church office 817-467-5151.

UNITY'S FIVE BASIC PRINCIPLES
There is only one Presence and one Power in the Universe and in my life,
God the Good.
Human beings have a spark of divinity within them, the Christ spirit within.
Their essence is of God, and therefore they are also inherently good.
Human beings create their experiences by the activity of their thinking.
Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought.
Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with God Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity, and everything good.
Knowing and understanding the laws of life, also called Truth, are not enough.
A person must live the truth he or she knows.

CORE VALUES
Spirit-Led:
Centered in the awareness of God's presence, we turn within for divine guidance in
all we do.
Love:
Love is our True Nature. We express the harmonizing power of love to
see good everywhere and in everybody. Love binds together the whole
human family.
Diversity:
We believe that all people are created with sacred worth. In a spirit of Unity,
we embrace each person as an expression of God grounded in truth and love.
Connection:
We live, love, and laugh from our Oneness with God. We honor our inter-connectedness with each other, with all life, and the earth.
Abundance:
God is our Infinite Source of Good. We gratefully demonstrate prosperity in all areas of our lives. We wisely use our wealth of resources to serve our spiritual community and the world.
Service:
We cultivate enlightened leadership by practicing the teachings of Jesus the Christ through sacred service. It is a blessing to serve locally and globally.
Integrity:
We consciously choose to practice living our Core Values and Unity Principles rather than simply professing them. We choose to communicate from the heart with authenticity and deliver on our commitments with reliability.
