Dear Parents
Happy Spring! It looks like we may be getting some much needed sunshine after all. Students in grades 3 - 8 will begin Forward testing in the next few days. We are administering the Wisconsin Forward Exam instead of the IOWA Basics Exam again this year. This test is required by public and Wisconsin Choice schools and will give us a true snapshot for planning and preparedness for high school.
We are expanding our education beyond the classroom in our junior high next year, with meaningful life-skills, exposure to career opportunities, hands-on learning, field trips, guest speakers, and a mentorship program. We are fostering partnerships with local businesses and professionals, inspiring our students to explore more options, hopefully sparking new interests. Thus far, we will be learning about Revit, basic car maintenance, planning nutritious meals on a budget, cooking/baking, farming, and renewable energy. If you have a profession of specialty you would be interested in sharing, please let me know.
Our Community Service Volunteer Ministry (CSVM) is collecting items for New Beginnings Pregnancy Center and the St. Katharine Drexel Homeless Shelter. We need your help. Please donate 8 oz. baby bottles, baby care items, such as wipes, shampoo, lotions, Desitin, newborn clothes, and disinfecting wipes. Please drop off items at daycare, school or in the parish center, or send them with your child. There is a table in the hallway for donations. Please help us help others!
