Friends of the Danville Library Membership Drive

Be a Friend of the Library!

Libraries are the cornerstones in every community. They educate us. They connect us with one another. They actually help change lives. And right now, our libraries need us.

For over 60 years, the Friends of the Danville Library (FODL) has generously contributed to the Danville Library through sales in its bookstore as well as through member dues and special book sale events all year round. Their Annual Membership Drive is underway now—and you can support the library by becoming a member.

Here are some of the ways they helped last year:

  • For families: Happy Bright Kids Puppet Show, the Not-so-Scary Halloween Magic Show, and the popular Kidchella Summer Music & Reading Festival, and provided themed craft and activity bags to engage young readers and encourage independent reading.

  • For teens: The library’s Teen Advisory Board meetings and activities (Danville has Contra Costa County’s largest teen group!) and expanded the Young Adult collection and programs.

  • For all patrons: Contributed $100,000 to support and expand the popular e-book and e-audiobook collection (Danville has the third highest usage in the county!), and provided $20,000 for new fiction and nonfiction books in all age groups and genres.

Of course, our library’s needs continue to grow every year. So why not lend a hand and become a Friends member?  Simply open the link below to go to the website and click on “Ways to Donate” and then “Be a Friend”. Or just come to the Friends Bookstore and fill out a form there. As a member, you'll make a difference at our great community library. Thank you for your support!
