This Sunday in Worship from Pastor Darren:
Did you know Easter is not just one day, but a season? The Easter season has begun, and it is 50 days from Easter Sunday to Pentecost Sunday (this year, on May 23). Sometimes it is called Eastertide or Paschaltide. As we celebrate this season, I will be preaching on the Acts passages from the lectionary that describe how the resurrection formed the early church, and how the Spirit of the risen Christ continues to shape our church today. One way to observe Eastertide is to read the Book of Acts.
Sermon Title: "Resurrecting Generosity"
- Acts 4:32-35
- 1 John 1:1-4
- Psalm 133
The bulletin will be available on our website as soon as possible. It will be in the green "Bulletins" box next to the live-streaming box on the home page. It will also be in the drop-down menu under the "Worship" tab on the home page.

In order to provide full representation of laity at this year's Annual Conference session, Bishop Trimble has ruled an exception to our rules for 2021. Several districts, including ours, will hold a second district conference in order to fill their open laity equalization spots. Dates for these conferences will be finalized soon.
If you're interested in serving, you need to complete this form by April 12 and submit it electronically. If you were elected earlier at this year's district conferences you don't need to do anything more. Voting members in each district will receive additional information.
If you have questions please email Ruth Ellen Needler.

Care and Nurture
Send a Greeting to a Member of North
For over one year we have been challenged by restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. We've not been able to freely gather with family and friends as we would like, or gather for worship in the numbers we had previously. Most of us are probably at home more than before the pandemic, but still get out to the grocery store or work, or for a walk in our neighborhood. However, there are North members who have remained confined to their homes. Pastor Diane has a list of those that would love to get a note or card, or a phone call from someone in the North Church community. Please contact her if you would like to send a greeting, and she will provide you with the necessary contact information.
Opportunity to Create Monthly Health Announcements
The Care and Nurture Team is inviting a student to create monthly public service announcements related to timely health topics for the North newsletter and social media. A monthly stipend would be paid. We hope to have someone begin by June. If you are interested please contact Pastor Diane.

How Did You Spend Earth Hour?
Did you observe "Earth Hour" on Saturday, March 27? Several of our members did. One built a roaring fire on vacation in Florida. Another family here in Indianapolis built a fire in the fireplace, and "sat in the dark, watching the flames and enjoying the quiet, the dark, and each other." You can get more information about this annual way to promote conservation here.
Creation Care Fair Has Been Postponed
The Green Team's Creation Care Fair originally slated for Sunday, April 25 has been postponed.

It's not too early to think about this year's North Church Farmers Market. The dates for 2021 will be: July 1, July 15, July 29, Aug. 5, Aug. 19, Sept. 2 and Sept. 16.
