This Sunday, April13, 2025, will be the Palm Sunday. Our scripture will be Luke 19.28-40 and the sermon will be titled A Stake on God's Power.
We are looking forward to seeing you here this Sunday.
| | This is a reminder that if you have an event here in the Church, you are responsible for locking the door and turning off ALL lights, especially in the restrooms. Three steps, before you leave: 1. Lock all doors 2. Turn off all lights, including those in restrooms 3. Check the narthex, the welcome center, and the stairwells. We appreciate everyone’s effort in helping keep our church sustainable! | | This week, we will open with a familiar song, Lead Me to the Cross and close with At the Cross. Both are very familiar songs you have heard, and will remember well. | |
We would like to thank our Pastor and church family for the visits, cards, calls and texts, and most especially the prayers for my recovery from shoulder surgery. Our Lord has blessed us with each of you and with healing. Though it's a long process, I'm doing well and on the road to recovery. Sue and I pray for health and blessings to each of you.

Our friends had so much fun this week playing outside, painting, making biscuits, making boats to see if they would float, singing in Music with Ms. Dana, and celebrating 100 days of school!
Save the date—our annual Art Show and Silent Auction are coming soon! This special event will be held on Thursday, April 10th, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the Discipleship Center/Gym.
The children love this night because we transform the Gym into an Art Gallery to showcase the beautiful and creative art they worked so hard on all year. Dinner plates of pizza or hot dogs and chips will be available for purchase, along with a create-your-own ice cream sundae bar!

YOUTH NEWS
Our church youth have chosen to assemble hygiene kits for UMCOR as their mission project. These kits will be used for people in crisis, usually after a disaster. Each kit will include a hand towel, wash cloth, a comb, soap bar, toenail or fingernail clipper, a toothbrush, and adhesive bandages. You do not have to buy all seven items. If you choose to buy 5 washcloths or six bars of soap, they will all be used for the kits. You are not obligated to fill a whole kit. These items can be purchased at Dollar General for a dollar each. Please consider helping the youth by purchasing some items for them. A list of these items is in the narthex with more details. We will assemble in May so the kits can be delivered to annual conference.
Thank you for supporting our youth.

Welcome Center on Sunday Mornings!
We are seeking volunteers to help with our Sunday morning hospitality. On Sunday mornings, snacks, coffee, and water are available in the Welcome Center before each service. Pre-packaged snacks are readily available and should be supplemented with fresh items you can easily pick up at your local grocery store. Folks who sign up need to have the Welcome Center ready at 8:45 and clean up after the worship service. . The Leadership Team has been taking care of this for the past year. More volunteers are needed to buy and put out the snacks on Sunday mornings, make the coffee, and clean up after the worship service (typically takes 15 minutes). More specific directions will be posted in the hospitality kitchen off the narthex. If you can help with hospitality this way, please click the link HERE. Thank you!

HUMC Stewardship Update: Return Pledge Cards By
Sunday, April 13th
The HUMC Leadership Team wants to thank the congregation again for an incredible year of support! As we shared last Sunday, our HUMC budget went from a deficit of over $77,000 in 2023 to a surplus of over $9,000 in 2024! So far, in 2025, receipts are running 48% higher than in 2024!
Please prayerfully discern your level of giving for 2025 and return your pledge cards to the church no later than Sunday, April 13th. Pledge Cards can be returned to the church during daily office hours and Sunday service through the offering.
The church office has additional copies available if you did not receive a pledge card or a copy of the 2024 giving schedule.
Thank you again for your gifts of time, talents, and treasure!
