• Many organizations are implementing plans to address healthcare workforce issues:
• As part of its comprehensive response to the COVID pandemic, the University of Maryland Medical System has created the One UMMS Emergency Staffing Pool, a temporary Per Diem/PRN float pool that will allow the system to deploy resources to all 16-member hospitals in the medical system as well as the Federal Medical Station located at the Baltimore Convention Center, and other pop-up medical care facilities in the area. In addition to identifying critical physician support, UMMS is seeking individuals with a range of clinical and non-clinical skill sets that can partner with the medical system as it collectively responds to the anticipated surge.
