This Weekly Update by the Illinois School and Campus Safety Program provides information on Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Child Abuse Prevention Month, COVID-19 resources from the REMS TA Center and NSBA, and the cancellation of Illinois School and Campus Safety Program trainings through May.

REMS TA Center Provides COVID-19 Resources, Infectious Disease Training; NSBA Provides Resources, Releases COVID-19 Legal Guide

The Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools Technical Assistance Center (REMS TA Center) has created a COVID-19 page, which shares guidance, resources, tools, and training.

The National School Boards Association, has also created a COVID-19 page and has released the guide " COVID-19: Preparing for Widespread Illness in Your School Community: A Legal Guide for School Leaders."
Illinois School and Campus Safety Program Trainings Cancelled Through May

The Illinois School and Campus Safety Program has cancelled our trainings through May due to the current situation with COVID-19. For a full list of cancellations and currently scheduled classes, visit our Upcoming Events page.
Sexual Assault Awareness Month and National Child Abuse Prevention Month

With COVID-19 at the forefront of many people's minds, we want to remind everyone that April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, as well as National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Resources, social media graphics (including the image on the right), and information on Sexual Assault Awareness Month can be found on the National Sexual Violence Resource Center's webpage.

The Childwelfare.gov website features information and resources for National Child Abuse Prevention Month, including: the " What is Child Welfare: A Guide for Educators" Fact Sheet, and the " 2019/2020 Prevention Resource Guide."
