Building Skills Partnership (BSP) - Meeting Workers Where They Are
BOMA/GLA is strengthening our partnership with BSP, in further pursuit of our shared interest in helping to improve the quality of life for building service workers in low-wage industries by increasing their access to education, leadership, and career advancement.
Through collective bargaining agreements negotiated between SEUI-USWW and employers, BOMA/GLA members have provided the financial support for BSP to deliver training, in addition to grants and individual support.
Together with BSP and the support of our members, our goal is to reach more building service workers with our culturally relevant workplace training which raises industry standards while paving the way for workers’ professional development.
Learn more about BSP and how you can bring workforce development to your building.
Make sure to visit BSP at their exhibit booth at the
CRE Summit and Showcase on May 18th!

Nothing But Sunny Skies and Amazing Views at Spring Golf 2023
The Spring Golf Tournament at Desert Willow Golf Club provided members with a full day of golfing fun and networking. Members teed off from a shotgun start in the desert oasis, racing to complete 18 holes of golf.
As the members' scores were being tallied, the festivities kicked up with a cocktail hour at the 19th hole. Everyone seemed to get something out of the numerous raffles.
It wouldn't have been possible without the help of the organizing committee, the volunteers, the sponsors, and the attendees.

Getting to Know Klejdis Radomi
Douglas Parking
Klejdis joined BOMA/GLA in 2022 because he knew it was an organization where new connections are fostered. Through his participation, he reached a new audience, expanded Douglas Parking’s digital footprint, and made new connections that have resulted in new clients.
His favorite event so far was last year’s ChrisMix because it provided a fun environment for members while giving him a chance to build relationships with potential clients.
Kleidis’s best career advice is "the harder you work, the luckier you get." He enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and collecting watches.

Bryan Haller with Unique Elevator Interiors and His Experience as a BOMA Member
"BOMA/GLA has been an excellent source of information for UEI as an organization in the Greater Los Angeles market. From the knowledgeable presenters on real estate trends and forecasting to better understanding current market activity. Ultimately, this serves to keep me informed on issues impacting the real estate market and our business. Or, what we in the elevator biz call “The Ups & Downs”!
I am grateful for the friendships I’ve developed through this organization over the past two years, including several of the amazing BOMA/GLA board and staff. These connections and friendships have also allowed us to modernize elevator interiors for several BOMA/GLA members and their buildings.”

Aaron Taxy Represents the CRE Industry at the UC Irvine Center for Real Estate Discussion on Measure ULA Tax Increase
Recently, our Director of Government and Public Affairs, Aaron Taxy, joined the UC Irvine Center for Real Estate to provide insight on the massive disruption the Los Angeles Measure ULA transfer tax increase is already having on property values, financing, and both commercial and housing development.
This initiative is severely damaging the value of real estate across Los Angeles and increasing everyone's cost of living. You can help by contributing to the Industry Defense Fund to combat initiatives like this.

BOMA Takes to the Hill!
Last month, BOMA/GLA joined members from around the country to take our advocacy to Capitol Hill. We met with our representatives in Congress, asking for support for funding and programs to help our members achieve greater energy efficiency, cleaner air in buildings, and we address pre-disaster mitigation.
We need your help in telling Congress to support the Small Business Energy Loan Enhancement Act (H.R. 1491). This bill would significantly increase the amount of financing for energy efficiency projects available to small businesses, including property owners. Contact your Congressperson to express your support of this bill.
