A CASE FOR INCLUSION
On March 29th, AG was proud to sponsor and attend Nonprofit Westchester's event, "A Case for Inclusion: Leveraging the Talent of People With Disabilities in the Workplace," where attendees discussed Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility. And, yes, there were American Sign Language Interpreters!

In addition to a dynamic and informative discussion, they provided a Small Business at Work Toolkit to outline how businesses can successfully hire and retain employees with disabilities. You can access the toolkit by clicking here.

NATSAP
In 2020, the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP) took the bold step (as have other state and national associations) to require that all member organizations be nationally accredited by June 30, 2023. The leadership and board of directors of NATSAP understand that being accredited takes a service provider on a higher path to distinguish NATSAP members from other, non-accredited therapeutic schools and programs and to build an association defined by quality and excellence, one that takes safety and evidence-based outcomes seriously.

CCBHC Accreditation
Being an accredited Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) goes above and beyond SAMHSA’s required criteria by providing validation of, and guidelines for, delivering required services in a safe and effective way and helping to improve the quality and safety of care. Accreditation is a strong support to SAMHSA’s required attestation of compliance with CCBHC criteria.

The Joint Commission has approved new standards for CCBHCs. These new standards align with SAMHSA’s CCBHC criteria and provide a “blueprint” for becoming a CCBHC or maintaining compliance with the required SAMHSA criteria.

Other accrediting bodies such as CARF, COA, ACHC also offer accreditation of CCBHC required services.

For additional information on how accreditation provides a solid foundation for a CCBHC, read our blog. Contact us for assistance in developing and maintaining compliance with SAMHSA's CCBHC criteria.
Early Implementation of FFPSA Congregate Care Provisions
The American Academy of Pediatrics (APA) and Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago have published an assessment of the first year implementation of the congregate care provisions of the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA). Click here to read this report.
What is SDoH?
More attention and funding is being focused on the importance of Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) in the treatment for individuals with mental health or substance use issues. For organizations delivering services to individuals with Medicaid coverage, many states are covering services to improve the environments of these individuals.
