Cool Changes For Camps

Don’t miss the chance to sign up for a Zoo Camp this year! There are a few exciting changes to this beloved program.

One addition is Eco Leaders, a day camp geared toward kids in 7th-12th grade. This new camp lets teenagers step into the shoes of a zoo keeper and devote a day to animal care and conservation. Eco Leaders camp includes games, projects, and behind-the-scenes experiences that will be truly unforgettable.

Another change is that there are two topics for each of the younger age ranges. This doubles the opportunities for kids to experience fresh topics and gives parents more flexibility when scheduling camp for their children. All camps include discussions, activities, games, animal encounters, and more. They’re the most memorable way to spend a week at the Zoo!

Spring Trivia

Spring is here, and we’re ready for April's Zoo Trivia, all about spring! This month, trivia is April 15 from 6-8 pm. Topics will include baby animals, eggs, pollinators, and general trivia.

Trivia is $15 per person, and teams can be 2-8 people. The winning team will receive a painting done by our animals!

Proceeds from trivia go toward animal conservation projects locally and around the world like Save Giraffes Now, African Painted Dog SAFE, and more.

Live Giraffe Cam

We know you’ve been asking for years, and the day is finally here! Our friends at WNDU have recently installed a LIVE giraffe savanna camera at the Zoo, so you can watch some of the animals, even if you can’t visit the Zoo!

The new camera is located on the giraffe barn, and it shows the savanna where the giraffes, ostriches, zebras, and marabou stork live, including the giraffe deck.

Frankie Arrives!

We’re so excited to welcome Frankie, the Zoo’s new southern white rhinoceros! This handsome 24-year-old male arrived safely at the Zoo on April 2. This move was recommended by the Southern White Rhino Species Survival Plan. Housing a solo male rhino allows us to be part of rhino conservation within zoos, and we’re honored to be Frankie’s new home.

Frankie may be behind-the-scenes some days, as he’s still getting used to his new routine and zoo keepers, but he may be out in the public view on warmer days. Keep an eye out for this big, friendly guy!
