April Climate Solutions Caucus Round-Up

Dear Stakeholder,

Please see below for highlights from April and a preview of what’s to come.

April Engagement:

Members met to discuss policy tools to strengthen domestic manufacturing and secure supply chains.

  • Members were joined by the Bipartisan Policy Center, Steel Manufacturers Association, Battery Materials Technology Coalition, and SAFE Minerals Center for a discussion on the current state of U.S. manufacturing and supply chain investment, as well as pathways to increase domestic capacity, specifically for critical minerals, steel, and other raw materials.

Staff met to discuss the role of Congress in the buildout of data centers nationwide.

  • In mid-April, staff gathered alongside members of the Data Center Coalition for a policy discussion surrounding energy demand, affordability, reliability, regulation, and coordination associated with data center buildout.

  • In other news, Co-Chairs Garbarino and Houlahan welcomed Congressman Rob Bresnahan (R-PA) and Congresswoman Kim Schrier (D-WA) as new members of the Caucus. The group is now 56 members strong, split evenly between Republicans and Democrats.

Looking Ahead:

Members plan to meet at the end of April to discuss U.S. energy and manufacturing dominance, supply chains, and raw material availability.

Caucus staff plan to discuss data center buildout efforts and considerations alongside the Data Center Coalition.

As always, stakeholders are encouraged to approach the Climate Solutions Caucus with priorities and engagement ideas as the 2025 programmatic calendar develops.
