APRIL 2022
"He has risen! He is not here."
Mark 16:6

Let us rejoice in the resurrection of our Lord and reflect on the hope and newness this celebration offers to us as a parish. May God's blessings be with you and your family in a special way during this Holy season.

What a pleasure to see our parish together for the celebration of Easter. I look forward to seeing everyone continue to return to St Brigid of Kildare as we work to renew our parish in the months to come. I know we will be a stronger parish because of the challenges we have faced. Thank you for everything you have done for our parish family.

Sincerely in Christ,
Rev. Msgr. Joseph M. Hendricks

St. Brigid Receives LifeCare Alliance's Community Service Spirit Award
Congratulations to Jim Whitmer and Nancy Davis

LifeCare Alliance is thrilled to recognize St. Brigid of Kildare as their Community Service Spirit Award Winner. Each year they present this award to an individual or group to recognize their long-term commitment to the agency and the clients they serve.

St. Brigid has been delivering Meals-on-Wheels since April of 2017. St. Brigid volunteers deliver multiple different routes each week. Since 2017 (as far back as their scheduling database goes) the groups have delivered almost 2000 routes! Nancy Davis and Jim Whitmer both recruit and train new volunteers. They are very reliable and Meal-on-Wheels never has to worry about those meals getting to the clients on the days their groups are scheduled.

LifeCare Alliance celebrated and recognized St. Brigid’s commitment on April 19th at their Volunteer Recognition Event.

Thank you to Jim Whitmer and Nancy Davis who spearhead this volunteer opportunity, as well as all of our volunteer drivers!
Real Presence, Real Future: Feedback Needed
The Real Presence, Real Future initiative has created draft models which grouped some parishes together to foster collaboration. The Diocese of Columbus is asking all parishioners to review the videos that summarize these draft models for our planning area, Group 2 North, and then respond to their survey.

Step 1: Watch 35-Minute Video

  • The first 25 minutes of the video give an overview of the reasons for the need for this long-range plan for the Diocese of Columbus.
  • From minutes 25-35, they discuss the proposed draft options for consolidating parishes in our planning area
  • Minute 30 begins St. Brigid's proposed plan: collaborating with St. Joseph Church in Plain City, keeping separate churches but sharing clergy and staff.
Step 2: Give Feedback

  • After watching the video, complete the short parishioner feedback survey based on the draft models proposed in the video.
The survey will close on June 30.

Please take the time to give your honest feedback, as the more feedback received, the more effective and meaningful this initiative will be.

Thank you for your time on this matter!

To see the draft models for all parishes, and for more information on this initiative, visit the RPRF webpage here.

Adult Faith Formation
April 26 and May 10
Did you ever wonder what happened to the people who were often lost in the story of the death and resurrection of Jesus? What happened to the soldier whose job it was to carry out the execution orders given by Pilate? What happened to Claudia, Pilate’s wife who warned him not to have anything to do with Jesus? What happened to the man who had his ear cut off by Peter or to Simon of Cyrene who was forced to help carry Jesus’ cross? Join us as we encounter the soldier, Claudia, Pilate, Malchus, Simon of Cyrene. Mary Magdalene and Salome. What happened to you since the Resurrection? April 26 and May 10. Each session lasts about 1 hour. You have three choices of time.

Altar Servers Needed - Training Coming
All students in the fifth grade and older are invited to become Altar Servers for Weekend and Holy Day Masses.

Is the Lord calling you to serve? Answer the Lord’s call by becoming an Altar Server! St. Brigid of Kildare is encouraging all those in the fifth grade and above to consider becoming an Altar Server. You will have only one training session to attend and one short manual to read and study. Do this and you are ready to be scheduled as an Altar Server. It is a rewarding service!

Once the number of Altar Servers is determined, we will be scheduling a couple of training sessions that will be about an hour to an hour and a half in length.

To register to become an Altar Server:
please reach out to Mr. Joe Feehan via his email address:  [email protected].

Thank you very much for your interest. We look forward to having you part of this most important team.

Special Collection: Donate to Families in Ukraine
Your help is needed in Ukraine where there are already more than 2.9 million people in need of assistance. There is great risk of additional suffering both within Ukraine and for those who may flee to neighboring countries for safety. CRS and our partners need immediate support to meet both ongoing needs, as well as those related to families forced to flee their homes as the situation intensifies.

CRS and Caritas partners on the ground are preparing across Ukraine and in bordering countries, ready to provide safe shelter, hot meals, hygiene supplies, transport to safe areas, counseling support and more.

Years of conflict along the eastern border have already displaced 1.3 million people from their homes and claimed 14,000 lives. Throughout this time, Caritas Ukraine, with support from CRS, has been providing emergency relief and recovery.

The situation there is rapidly unfolding, and we could not do this work without your help. When you donate, you provide immediate assistance for your Ukrainian sisters and brothers affected by this crisis.

Your prayers and support will make so much difference. Please give a vital gift today!

There will be a special collection the weekend of March 20 for Ukraine.
