| | Benjamin Franklin Middle School Students Create a Native Pollinator Garden | | Even a small garden like this provides critical habitat and food sources for pollinators. | | |
This spring, 6th and 7th graders at Benjamin Franklin Middle School in Levittown converted a section of their courtyard into a native pollinator garden, supported by a DEP Environmental Education grant, their teachers, and Heritage Conservancy staff. Students researched native plants, measured the space, and designed a blueprint before bringing their plan to life, creating a critical habitat for local wildlife right outside their classroom.

| | Tiny and Amazing: Meet the Northern Ringneck Snake | | A snake species that is both common and often underappreciated. | | |
This is one of PA's smaller snake species, averaging somewhere between 6 and 15 inches in length. The record for this species is just over 2 feet, but most of the Ringnecks you’ll find will be far smaller. If you're even vaguely interested in the world of herpetology, this is a great entry species to learn about — they're easy to find, harmless, and quite beautiful!

"We are thrilled to support Heritage Conservancy’s new greenhouse at the Russell-Mandel Preserve. This project invests in education, environmental stewardship, and the future of our local landscape. The opportunity to help create a space where native plants can be cultivated, where preserved properties can be enhanced, and where communities can experience hands-on learning about nature is truly inspiring."
