Welcome to the newest edition of the Cornerstones enewsletter. The BACnet International community benefits from information and education shared through Cornerstones, the organization's monthly electronic publication. This publication is distributed to members of the BACnet International community, connecting corporate, integrator, site, student and individual end users.

Cornerstones is a unique publication because it speaks not only to the engineer and contractor communities, but also to facility professionals, building managers and owners, and other personnel.

Ensure You are Using the Correct BTL Test Package

The BTL Working Group (BTL WG) has developed a testing package which contains a set of testing procedures that can be acquired and used by manufacturers to pre-test their products for BACnet compliance before they send their products to the BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL) for official testing.

This package may be obtained from the BTL by the manufacturer when it officially applies for testing. The BTL uses this test package to verify compliance.

At present, the current test package is BTL Test Package 18.1. This was published on February 17, 2021. All products entering testing at any of the four Recognized BACnet Testing Organizations (RBTOs) will use Test Package 18.1 for BTL Testing.
