Dear Parents and Families,

We continue our school-wide theme of exploring mindfulness as presented in the book I Am Peace. Mrs. Beliveau and Mrs. Samse presented a quote from the book as this month’s reflection.

"Now that I share my peace with others and hope that it is carried away to those who need it." When you read this quote, we recall the Concluding Rite of Mass, when we are told to go forth and carry out the word of the Lord. We are directed to go forth and live like Jesus did; to bring more people to the Catholic faith by spreading the message of the Gospel.

In April, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus followed by Pentecost when Jesus breathes on the Apostles and they receive the Holy Spirit. The apostles are commanded to go forth and spread God’s word and set up the church throughout the nations. This is what we remember each day when we live out our lives, to go forth and bring the word of God to others. In addition to spreading God’s word, we are commissioned to acts of love, words of prayer, praise, and gratitude. We must take care of each other, always mindful that we are Jesus’ flock which He so loves.

Our Catholic faith compels us to share what we hear and learn at Mass. We are encouraged to pass our faith to others by how we act, speak and conduct ourselves during our daily lives. This is especially important as this was a direct instruction that Jesus gave his apostles and is now passed on to each of us.

Therefore, during this Easter Season, it is essential that we go forth verbally, emotionally, spiritually, and apostolically to bring the word of the Lord to all who we meet.

May the joys of Easter fill your heart with gladness.

Peace,

Mrs. Ann T. Sarpu

Opportunity to Fulfill Your Fundraising Obligation –

Fore the Children Tournament

Fore the Children, the Corpus Christi School Golf Tournament, will be an exciting day

filled with fun on the course, delicious and plentiful food and drink, amazing prizes, and

wonderful company. It’s also a great opportunity to fulfill your Home and School

Fundraising Obligation (HFO). 50% of all sponsorships that you bring in will go

towards your HFO. For example, for every tee sign sponsorship you bring in, 50% of it

will go towards your requirement ($175 x .50 = $87.50). If you or your company are

interested in a larger sponsorship, such as the Dinner Sponsorship, you could earn

even more towards your HFO. To receive credit to your HFO account, the sponsorship

paperwork must be in by May 17th.

We welcome players of all levels! If you don’t play, we also have an option to join us for

cocktails and dinner.

Plan now to take the day off from work on Monday, June 24, 2024 so you can join us for a fun day supporting a great cause!

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

In April, I will be performing exams for scoliosis for Girls in Grade 5 and 7th and Boys in Grade 8.

This will happen during PE class and it is private and done with respect. Children at this age go through amazing growth spurts and sometimes show signs of Scoliosis (Curvature of the Spine).

Your child will face my clock and I will be checking his/her back, shoulders and hips for any

unevenness and deformity. Please make sure your daughter is wearing a sports Bra. If I find any abnormality or a need for recheck, I will be notifying you to follow up with your child’s Physician and I will include my findings for the Doctor.

Fortunately early cases of Scoliosis have been identified by School nurses over the years and follow up at an early age is crucial for successful treatment. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you,

Norovirus Fact Sheet
District Health Guideline Reminders

Reminder:

No child is allowed to bring to school any unauthorized medications into the school without a Doctor’s order. This includes over the counter medications such as Tylenol, Vitamins, Lactaid or Probiotics. All medications must be brought to the Nurse’s office in the original container with a Doctor’s order for distribution. No child is to carry any type of medication unless this is ordered by the Doctor and must be given in the Nurse’s Office unless otherwise specified on the order. Any student caught with an unidentifiable medication will be brought to the Principal and if there is cause for concern such as suspected drug use, consequences can occur that will be up to the Principal and may include Law enforcement. We have seen an increase in Drug usage in our communities and within schools and we do not want to impact the safety of Corpus Christi School and our students. Be assured illegal drug use has not occurred in Corpus Christi School but there is a need for me to be proactive at this time. It is with this knowledge that I alert parents to the above Policy to keep our School Safe.

Stuffed Animals are not permitted in the School due to sanitary issues. Children can easily transmit germs and potentially lice to others and we try to minimize the point of contact to keep the school and students healthy. Family pictures are encouraged if separation anxiety is an issue.

Thank you,
