Dear Parents,

The students continue to learn about the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary. The Second Sorrowful Mystery is The Scourging at the Pillar. The Fruit of the Mystery is Purity.

After Jesus’ arrest and being found guilty, Ciaphas took Jesus to Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor. Pilate was not comfortable condemning Jesus as he felt the punishment did not fit the crime. In honor of the Feast day of Passover, Pilate offered to release one prisoner – he

was hoping that the people would choose Jesus to be released. However, the people chose

another criminal, Barabbas, instead. Pilate was a weak man who caved under the pressure

from the crowd. Pilate asked for a bowl and washed his hands in the water claiming he was

innocent of Jesus’s blood. Jesus was stripped of his clothes and tied to a stone pillar. He was

lashed by the thirsty mob and his flesh was torn from his Sacred body.

When we ponder on this mystery in relation to our lives we consider how in the scourging we see Jesus completely stripped of his human dignity and tortured mercilessly. How attached we often are to our own interests, to our comfort, to our public image, to the attention and approval of others. Perhaps we worship our own wellbeing, but the real master we must serve is the Lord!

Reflect at how Jesus surrenders himself to doing the will of the Father. We often go around in circles trying to avoid suffering in our lives. We dread confronting the pain or anything that takes away our comfort. But these sacrifices such as caring for the sick, homeless, elderly, the poor, are the ways through which we learn to entrust ourselves to God. The things that we might think are so humiliating or so demanding, these are the concrete situations where we entrust ourselves into the hands of God. Our sufferings are thus an opportunity for us to throw ourselves into the arms of God, trusting him in obedience and becoming true disciples.

Lord God, You loved this world so much that you gave your one and only Son,

that we might be called your children too.

Lord, help us to live in the gladness and grace of Easter Sunday, every day.

Let us have hearts of thankfulness for your sacrifice.

Let us have eyes that look upon Your grace and rejoice in our salvation.

Help us to walk in that mighty grace and tell Your good news to the world.

All for Your glory do we pray, Lord, Amen.

— Rachel Marie Stone

May Christ always be by your side and bless you abundantly.

Happy Easter!

Opportunity to Fulfill Your Fundraising Obligation – Fore the Children Tournament

Fore the Children, the Corpus Christi School Golf Tournament, will be an exciting day filled with fun on the course, delicious and plentiful food and drink, amazing prizes, and wonderful company. It’s also a great opportunity to fulfill your Home & School Fundraising Obligation (HFO). 75% of all sponsorships that you bring in will go towards your HFO. For example, for every tee sign sponsorship you bring in, 75% of it will go towards your requirement ($175 x .75 = $131.25). If you or your company are interested in a larger sponsorship, such as the Dinner Sponsorship, you could earn even more towards your HFO. We welcome players of all levels! If you don’t play, we also have an option to join us for cocktails and dinner.

Plan now to take the day off from work on Monday, May 22nd so you can join us for a fun day supporting a great cause!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

In April, I will be doing Postural Screening with all girls in Grade 5 and Grade 7 and all boys in grade 8 during gym. Growth can occur very quickly at this age and some may experience a curvature of the spine. If it is picked up early during a routine screening, therapy can be initiated sooner. Exams occur in my office in a private respectful manner where I observe the back, shoulders, clavicles, rib fullness and hip alignment. Please have your daughter wear a sports bra for gym day, which will stay on during the exam. If I notice a problem, I will contact you for further evaluation by your child’s doctor. If you choose to opt out, I will need a completed exam done by your child’s doctor for their School Health Record by June.

Just a quick reminder:

Please continue to test your child for COVID in the event they develop a sore throat, runny nose, cough with/without fever. We are still seeing cases and it is not gone completely in the State and Community. I have test kits if needed.

Thank you and be well.

Thank you,
