Fueling for Marathoners &
Half Marathoners
Exercise and nutrition go hand in hand, and training for a marathon or half marathon is no different. Proper fueling can make or break your training program and race day success. Nutrition will impact how well you recover, how well you adapt and how well you perform in your workouts and on race day.

Recovery is 24/7 during any program so please read on for helpful strategies so you can perform at your best!
Thank you volunteers!
This National Volunteer Month we salute our dedicated group of volunteers who have made our race weekend special since 1991! Each year, more than 2,000 volunteers help our runners and walkers achieve their goals and help spectators and the community get around on race day. Without them, our race wouldn't be so welcoming and fun!

See for yourself in this video, first shown at our Volunteer Appreciation Event in 2019.

Volunteer registration will open in summer with new safety protocols. Watch Course Connection and foxcitiesmarathon.org for details.
Thank you to our volunteer Board of Directors!
Our volunteer Board of Directors are active all year providing guidance at monthly meetings and serving on committees. They also help with promoting the marathon and volunteer during race weekend.

Sponsor Spotlight: Kwik Trip
Dedicated to serving and making a positive difference
Kwik Trip is more than just a great company with convenient locations to get gas, fresh food and coffee. It's also an important part of the Community First Fox Cities Marathon weekend of events.

This Volunteer Appreciation Month, we also want to say thank you to Kwik Trip, our Volunteer Sponsor. Providing support to our volunteers is critical to the success of all of our races. Whether volunteers are helping direct runners and traffic or cleaning up garbage after the race, Kwik Trip helps us deliver a great volunteer experience.

“Being a sponsor of the Community First Fox Cities Marathon is a natural fit for all of us at Kwik Trip,” said Steve Wrobel from Kwik Trip Public Relations. “At our core is a sincere desire to serve our communities. The marathon is a fun way to connect with many, many people at an event featuring miles of scenic beauty.”

Kwik Trip is a family-owned company that serves customers with more than 760 convenient, clean retail locations. The stores are stocked through daily deliveries from the chain’s home base in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
