Watch Our Progress: Downtown Burlington Is Open For Business
Downtown Burlington is seeing a boom in projects. TIGER Project work continues on the riverfront and resuming on the 800 block of Jefferson and on Main Street. Tama Too is going up quickly on the 300 block of Jefferson Street. Churchill building is almost complete and getting ready to open as residential and commercial space. Merge Urban Development Group is ready to start building on 3rd Street. The 700 block of Jefferson Street is undergoing exciting renovations. There are many upper story renovations happening and commercial space being created throughout the Downtown District.
Although you may not be able to park in front of your favorite business when construction work is on that block, remember that there is parking on the side streets and in the city lots. In most cases, you can park less than a block away and walk to support the small businesses.
With all of these projects happening in the Downtown District, remember, "We Are Open For Business". Come down and see the progress in front of your eyes! Stroll, shop, eat, drink and enjoy the Downtown!

The 2021 - 2022 Greater Burlington Leadership Class Project
Annually, participants of Greater Burlington Leadership are tasked with working as a group to provide a project that will improve the community and make an impact on others, while learning to work as a team, broaden their network, delegate, manage conflict, and speak in public.
Members of the 2021 - 2022 Burlington Leadership Class are excited to announce their group project! They will be raising money for a ‘Welcome to Burlington’ historic mural. The theme is, "Embracing Our Past While Painting Our Future".
Public art helps bring culture and a vibrant welcome to the community. The mural will be located on the side of a building on Court Street, between Main and Front Streets.
Craig Jacoba has been selected to be the muralist on this project. Craig's work can be seen all around the community. He's done work at the pediatric unit at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center, CNH and the YMCA.
This art will be a catalyst for more art in the community and an attraction to welcome tourists into Greater Burlington.
