King County Executive Dow Constantine Visits Encompass
On March 27, King County Executive Dow Constantine visited the Encompass Early Learning Center to learn more about our
Child Care Health Consultation (CCHC) program. The CCHC program, which was developed in 2018 thanks to funding from King County's
Best Starts for Kids initiative, provides free guidance and support to center-based child care, home-based child care (family, friend, and neighbor), and preschool programs with the goal of empowering child care providers to nurture the healthy development and school readiness of all children in their care.

Summer Camp Registration off to a Hot Start
Morning camps for ages 3-7 are all officially full, but there is still room in our morning camps for 2-year-olds and our afternoon camps for ages 3-7! Encompass is one of the few organizations in the area that offers summer camps for 2-year-olds. One Encompass parent had this to say about it:
“Enrolling my 2-year-old son in Encompass Summer Camps was the best thing I could have done for his growth and development.”
Some of our most popular camps for ages 3-7 are still available, including Jungle Safari, Happily Ever After, Tubes and Tunnels, and Wild about Water. Each camp includes crafts, stories, and activities related to the theme as well as a snack and plenty of free choice play time both indoors and outdoors.

March Developmental Screening Forum
Last month, Encompass partnered with Best Starts for Kids, WithinReach, and Cardea to host a community forum at the Sallal Grange where parents and caregivers were able to provide feedback on their experiences with developmental screening and referrals. Parents learned about Encompass programs and services, completed the
Ages and Stages Questionnaire screening, and learned about how they can use the
Vroom app to enhance their child's brain development. About 20 parents, children and family members attended the event.
