Celebrating International Women’s Day in Bardstown, Nelson County!
What an incredible morning it was at the first-ever International Women’s Day breakfast hosted by the Bardstown Nelson County Chamber at the beautiful Maywood Grill. The morning kicked off with a breakfast setting the perfect tone for the inspiring discussions ahead. The event started with a panel discussion led by Randi Mouser featuring three remarkable women leaders from our community Diana Gagne, Amy Smith Cissell, and Lisa Johnson. Their stories of resilience, determination, and success served as a powerful reminder of the immense contributions of women in every sphere of life. A big thanks to these four amazing women. Following the panel discussion, our keynote speaker Kim Huston’s speech resonated deeply with all in attendance. Her words ignited a renewed sense of purpose, inspiring everyone to strive for equality and she inspired the audience to focus on leadership with our youth. It was a morning filled with laughter, learning, and a renewed commitment to supporting and uplifting women in our community and beyond.
We want to give a big thank you to Nikki House Goff for her assistance in planning and to our event sponsors:

On March 23rd, the Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber held its second annual National Civics Bee at Thomas Nelson High School. 18 middle school students from across the commonwealth gathered to test their civics knowledge to win the top prize of $500 dollars and for the chance to compete in the statewide competition held later this year at the Kentucky State Fair. The students competed in two rounds of questioning, with the top five with the most points advancing into round three. Anthony H., Brianna S., Gloria G., Nate A., and Noah W. were the top five finalists. The top five finalists gave a brief presentation on their essay topic with the judges, and Noah impressed the judges the most winning him first place in the competition. In addition to Noah’s win, Nate took home second place and $250 dollars, and Gloria was awarded third place taking home the prize of $150 dollars. On behalf of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, and the Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber congratulations and a job well done!

Young Professionals Network
|
|
On March 28th, the Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber's Young Professionals Network held its second event of the year at Dreamhouse By Amy Brokered by Exp Realty. It was a morning filled with donuts, coffee, networking, and professional development. First, the YP’s got to partner with other YP’s that they didn’t know to share how they can help each other be successful in their personal and work life. Next, we heard from the realtor experts themselves Amy Wimsett and Bailey Mashburn on all things homebuying. We learned the benefits of using a relator, rates, housing market updates, inexpensive ways to get your home ready to sell, and much more.
Thank you again to Amy Wimsett, Realtor and Bailey Mashburn, Realtor for giving your time this morning to speak on the importance of knowing the home buying process to fellow young professionals in the community.
