Every April, people across the United States join together for a national effort to bring awareness to sexual harassment, assault, and abuse.  During this time of uncertainty, the topic of health and safety is at the forefront of every conversation. We must also maintain a sense of safety around sexual violence and domestic violence, and ensure people close to us are protected from harm.

Center for Community Solutions is joining the  California Coalition Against Sexual Assault, the National Sexual Violence Resource Center, No More, and many other partners for a month filled with action and education.

A staggering  1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men will experience some form of sexual violence in their lifetime. By joining together during Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), we can spread awareness about consent and healthy relationships.

All month long, CCS will share resources focused on sexual violence, healthy relationships, consent, boundaries, and more. We will be participating in the #IAsk and #BoldMoves campaigns, and invite you to join in!

Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram (@ccs_sd) for updates throughout April.  Be sure to also follow the CCS Prevention, Education, and Advocacy Services team on Instagram (@ccs_prevents) for resources geared towards youth.

Together, we can create a world free of sexual violence.

COVID-19 Organizational Updates

D ue to the recent concerns with COVID-19, national and local public health guidance indicate the need for communities to make temporary adjustments. In an effort to do our part in reducing risk for our clients, staff, and the community, Center for Community Solutions has extended our modified service plan through April 30, 2020. During this time, the shelters and hotline will remain operating at full capacity, and CCS staff will utilize virtual methods of communication to continue providing client services.

Center for Community Solutions has also made the decision to postpone our Tea & Tonic event, which was scheduled for Thursday, April 30. The health and well-being of our vital donors, staff, clients, and community are our highest priority during this developing public health issue. We plan to reschedule Tea & Tonic for a later date, and are working diligently with our speaker and venue to obtain future dates.

We will continue to provide updates as information is available.  Should you have any questions regarding service availability, please contact our hotline at 1-888-385-4657.
Thank You!

Share the Dough
We are grateful to Panera Bread for a generous donation of $20,000 through their Share the Dough program. T hese funds will provide operating support for intervention and healing programs and services that help survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault across San Diego County.  During this time of social distancing, we want you to know that partners, like Panera, are stepping up to help the community. Currently, all Panera cafes are offering to-go, delivery, and catering. Thank you!

Molly Maid

A heartfelt thank you to the Molly Maid Foundation  for their donation of much-needed items to our short-term and long-term shelters. The new bedding, flatware, clothing, baby supplies (from diapers to car seats), and other essential household items will help families fleeing violence reestablish self-sufficiency. We are so grateful.
