Read our 2020 Annual Report
While 2020 was different than anyone could have expected, it reinforced that our mission—to ensure that the Charles River parks are open and engaging to all—is paramount for the health and resiliency of Boston, Cambridge and Watertown. Thanks to the incredible generosity and dedication of our community of supporters, we were able to continue to steward the Charles River and its parks when our community needed them most. Check out our accomplishments in our recently released Annual Report.

Conservancy Volunteers
March Recap
Our 2021 Conservancy Volunteers season kicked off in March. Thank you to everyone who volunteered with us! A fantastic group of young adults from the community helped to remove litter and prune shrubs at Magazine Beach, and a group of students from Northeastern's Circle K Club helped to remove old tree stakes from young trees along Memorial Drive.
Open Volunteer Events
In May we will be working at Hell's Half Acre in Cambridge. Volunteers will assist with our large scale restoration project of this land, working to remove garlic mustard and glossy buckthorn seedlings. There are two opportunities to help out with this project. Spots are limited, so don't delay!
Schedule a Volunteer Event
Looking for a way to see friends and colleagues, enjoy the warmer weather, and do some good for the community? Consider scheduling a Conservancy Volunteers event for your company or group! Reserve your day and learn more about our event safety protocols by contacting Sasha at [email protected].

Floating Wetland
The Wetland is Back!
Last month, our floating wetland returned to its mooring along Cambridge Parkway, after spending the winter months in a protected, upriver location. You can now view the wetland from Cambridge Parkway, the Longfellow Bridge, or boat!

Infinity Pharmaceuticals
We're thrilled to spotlight Infinity Pharmaceuticals, a biotech company based in Cambridge with a dedication to the community. Over the years, Infinity associates have volunteered with us during four events, and made a large impact on Cambridge parks through planting bulbs, picking up litter, and removing invasive plants. Infinity Pharmaceuticals also supported the CRC in 2020, helping us care for parks that have provided crucial open green space for recreation, respite, and seeing friends and family safely. Thank you, Infinity Pharmaceuticals, for your dedication to the community!

Over the years, our #ConservancyVolunteers have planted thousands of daffodils in the parks. This time of year, you can spot them blooming along the river. Follow along on Instagram for a glimpses of their yellow flowers!

Lobby for the Rivers Day a Success
In March, CRC staff and supporters joined river advocates from around the state to participate in Lobby for the Rivers Day, organized by our partners at the Mass Rivers Alliance. We're grateful to Rep. Connolly, Rep. Owens, and Rep. Livingstone, as well as staff members from Sen. Brownsberger and Rep. Moran's offices, for taking time to talk with us about drought, invasive species, and environmental funding!
