The Cobbs Creek Foundation Celebrates

 Earth Month

The Cobbs Creek Foundation is investing more than $30 Million Towards a Greener Tomorrow

The Cobbs Creek Foundation and Essential Foundation

In celebration of Earth Month, we are highlighting our partnership between The Cobbs Creek Foundation and Essential Foundation. The Essential Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Essential Utilities. Essential Utilities focuses on delivering safe, clean, reliable services that improve quality of life for individuals, families, and entire communities. With a focus on water, wastewater and natural gas, Essential is committed to sustainable growth, operational excellence, a superior customer experience, and premier employer status. Essential advocates for the communities they serve and are dedicated stewards of natural lands, protecting more than 7,600 acres of forests and other habitats throughout our footprint. 

In 2023, CCF received a generous $1 million donation from the Essential Foundation. The funding and partnership will support CCF’s plans to restore three miles of impaired waterways that regularly flood the surrounding neighborhood. Together, they will create 25+ acres of wetlands – comprising one of the largest urban creek restoration projects in the country to date, according to Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. The effort will improve water quality, minimize sewer overflows, reduce flooding, and enhance habitat at the site.  

Boys Latin of Philadelphia Interns

The Cobbs Creek Foundation and TGR Foundation prioritize providing opportunities to help students explore their interests and prepare for their futures. We recently welcomed interns from Boys Latin of Philadelphia to learn more about careers in education, nonprofits, and Turfgrass Science.

National PA Day Community Clean Up

In celebration of National PA Day, Cobbs Creek Foundation is organizing a Collaborative Community Clean Up event on Saturday, July 20th 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM at Morris Park.

TGR Learning Lab Coming Early 2025

As TGR Foundation makes progress toward opening the TGR Learning Lab in 2025, ongoing programs are supporting our community and providing unique opportunities for local youth.
