The Village is experiencing a high volume of questions related the upcoming election, absentee ballots, and response deadlines. Please see the below list of frequently asked questions and answers. How do I register to vote for the April 6, 2021 election?
  • Registration can be done at Village Hall during regular business hours until April 2, 2021. You may also register on election day. Proof of residency is required.
  • There is no voter registration on the Monday prior to the election.
  • Note: You must have resided at the address you provide on your Registration Form for at least 28 consecutive days prior to an election in order to vote in Whitefish Bay.  

How do I request an absentee ballot? 
  • Absentee ballots can be requested in one of the following ways:
  • Online at: https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/
  • Send a request via email to [email protected]
  • Submit an Absentee Ballot Application by mail. Application is available online at: https://www.wfbvillage.org/DocumentCenter/View/1338/
  • Voters who have not previously submitted a copy of their photo ID to vote by mail will need to include a copy of their ID with their request. If you are not sure whether you need to do so, please include a copy to avoid any delay in processing.
  • The deadline to request a ballot by mail is 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2021. However, please request ASAP to ensure timely delivery.

How do I return my ballot?
  • Absentee ballots may be returned via USPS or in the 24 hour drop box located in between the front doors at Village Hall (see photo).  

When is in-person absentee voting?
  • In-person absentee voting will take place at Village Hall, 5300 N. Marlborough Drive, starting Tuesday, March 23, 2021, through Friday, April 2, 2021, except weekends. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except Friday, April 2, 2021, the hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
  • No appointment necessary; please bring a photo ID.
  • There is no absentee voting on the Monday prior to the election.

When are polls open on Election Day?

Offices up for primary election on April 6, 2021: State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Court of Appeals Judge, Circuit Court Judges (Branches 3,6,12,15,19,22,30,37,45,46) , Whitefish Bay Village Trustees (2), Whitefish Bay School Board Members (3). Wisconsin Requires a Photo ID to Vote: All Wisconsin voters must show an acceptable photo ID before voting. This includes voters at polling places and most absentee voters. The address on your photo ID does not have to be your current address and the name on your ID does not need to be an exact match to your name in the poll book (such as an abbreviated name). Visit the State of Wisconsin website for more information.

Election Day Safety: The Village is doing everything we can to keep poll workers, Village Staff, and the general public safe. Safety precautions on Election Day will include:
  • Cleaning at all polling places throughout Election Day
  • Voting booths placed a minimum of six feet apart
  • Plexiglas shields to separate poll workers and voters
  • Gloves for poll workers
  • Masks for poll workers
  • Wipes
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Pen for every voter
  • Tape on floor for social distancing
