FOUNDATION NEWS
Information & updates about the Foundation and its programs
Interested in becoming part of a monthly forum of French and American leaders in the United States?

The French-American Foundation created the Transatlantic Forum in 2017 to foster consistent dialogue on issues of shared concern between both countries. With over 60 members to date, the initiative offers closed-door opportunities to hear from experts in their respective fields and engage in pragmatic dialogue on the most pressing questions facing both sides of the Atlantic.

If you want to learn more about this growing community of transatlantic leaders, take a look at our upcoming event on European climate policy. More information about the discussion and the program in general can be found in the links below. For information about membership, please contact Nathalie Bastin at nbastin@frenchamerican.org.

Description: The discussion will examine Europe’s response to climate change. When Ursula von der Leyen became President of the European Commission in 2019, she announced a major set of initiatives to have the EU go carbon neutral in 2050 by expanding its Green energy infrastructure. This webinar will explore the policies behind this transition to renewable power, along with the challenges it faces in phasing out fossil fuels and the implications of this shift for transatlantic relations.
Speaker: Stephen G. Gross is Director of the Center for European and Mediterranean Studies and Associate Professor of History & European Studies at NYU.
Moderator: Bhama Ramkhelawon (Young Leader ’19) is an Assistant Professor and the Director of the Vascular Research Program at NYU Langone Medical Center.
