April 6 - Rebecca Wells' Great Southern Writer Symposium - Special 2-hour presentation from best-selling author Rebecca Wells, who started a national phenomenon with her novels of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. Wells, a trained actor, will entertain with stories from her Southern youth and the relationships between mothers and daughters. The first 200 ticket holders will be seated in the Sliman Theater and see Wells live on stage. Tickets sold past initial 200 will see a live broadcast of Wells from inside the Essanee Theater. April 7 - T-Boy's Bayou Adventure Tour - Three guided tours by TECHE Project will set off on a party barge from the Boat Launch at New Iberia City Park. Tours are at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. A local guide will narrate Teche Area history and detail local efforts to preserve and maintain the bayou, while highlighting points of interest along the way. April 14 - Eggs-Treme Easter Celebration! - Rip Van Winkle Gardens along with Frosted Apron will host “Eggs-Treme Easter Celebration!” Each participant will be able to decorate two Easter themed cupcakes, take pictures with the Easter Bunny, decorate a flower pot, and take part in an Easter Egg Hunt on the front lawn of the Jefferson Mansion. A special prize will be awarded to the finder of the Golden Egg and door prizes will be given away.
