Video: New Protections for Pregnant & Nursing Workers

New 2023 Federal Form W-4


A new federal W-4 form for 2023 is now available. Unlike the big W-4 form shakeup of 2020, there are not significant changes to the new form for 2023.


You do not have to fill out the new W-4 form if you already have one on file with your employer. You also don't have to fill out a new W-4 every year.


However, if you start a new job, or want to adjust your withholdings at your existing job, you'll probably need to fill out a new W-4.


For 2023 there is a new tax table regarding how to claim dependents. To avoid paying more in federal taxes for 2023, an employee may want to consider completing the new 2023 Federal W4 form since the tax tables are no longer updated.


Additionally, major events such as divorce, marriage, new dependents, or side gigs, can also trigger a change in tax liability, so it's also a good idea to review your withholdings and W-4 as life changes.

Handling a Harassment Complaint


Harassment complaints often come with complexities that should be handled in a timely and careful manner, and most importantly, with the help of HR. It is important for supervisors, managers and even all-staff to be made aware of what behaviors constitute harassment as well as what the obligations are of those in supervisory or leadership roles to properly address such complaints that surface. However, even if workers have received training on harassment, it is important to make HR your first call upon being made aware of a potential harassment-related incident.

OSHA Postings

Feb. 1- April 30


Employers covered by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA's) record-keeping rule must post a summary (Form 300A) of 2022 work-related injury and illnesses in a noticeable, accessible place available to workers from Feb. 1 to April 30.

 

Employers who had 10-19 employees throughout the course of 2022 are required to maintain and retain an internal report (OSHA 300 and 301) for five years but are not required to submit to OSHA, unless there is a work-related fatality or if three or more employees are hospitalized as the result of a work-related incident. 

 

If you are a covered employer and your company’s headcount for 2022 was more than 20, OSHA e-file is required and must be submitted by March 2nd each year.
