The OTO will be announcing application opportunities for Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) funding and Electric Vehicle Charger funding next Thursday, April 20, 2023. Application information will be posted on the OTO grant webpage.

2023 Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A)Grant Applications Open - Federal


The 2023 Notice of Funding Opportunity has been issued for the SS4A grant applications. Information can be found here https://www.transportation.gov/grants/SS4A. Application information summaries can be found on the OTO grants page.


Applications due - Monday, July 10, 2023 @ 5:00 p.m. eastern time


Eligible Applicants - political subdivisions of the state that have an approved Action Safety Plan. The OTO is working on a Safety Action Plan for our region.

2023 Wildlife Crossing Program - Federal

Applications due - Tuesday, August 1, 2023 @ 11:59 p.m. eastern time.


Eligible Applicants - States, MPOs, and local governments.


The primary goals of the WCPP are to save lives, prevent serious injuries, and protect motorists and wildlife by reducing WVCs, and improve habitat connectivity for terrestrial and aquatic species. Reduction of wildlife vehicle collisions and improvement of terrestrial and aquatic habitat connectivity are the primary merit criteria that will be used in reviewing applications, and each of the primary merit criteria are of equal importance.

FY24 Freight Enhancement Program (FRE) - State


MoDOT posted the FY24 Freight Enhancement Program (FRE) Request for Proposals Notice on the MoDOT website.

Applications due - Friday, May 19, 2023 @ 5:00 p.m. central time.


Eligible Applicants - Public, private, and not-for-profit entities are eligible for Freight Enhancement funds.


Previous projects funded through this program include rail spurs, docks, airport cargo aprons, and conveyor systems.
