Spring into Science with Cranbrook Institute of Science

April 2 – 6, the Institute of Science will open its doors to spring breakers! This family-friendly week of fun will feature activities for children and adults alike, including:
Spring into Science: From 11am – 3pm daily, meet the “Dirt Doctors,” play games and learn about marine debris, see a live vampire fish, explore the wetlands around us and how they impact the environment, learn about Michigan mammals, make recycled arts and crafts, and much more. All ages are welcome. The event is free with general museum admission.
exploreLAB: Little kids will love digging for dinosaur fossils, kids of all ages will enjoy cleaning and taking their very own fossil home with them. Families can visit

Mark your May calendars now. Join us for a night out as we celebrate women who rock science! On May 9, from 6:30 – 9:00pm we will honor women in STEM and STEAM education with this inaugural event that will support science programming around metro Detroit. The evening will include the chance to purchase jewelry from Greenstone’s Fine Jewelers, with a portion of the proceeds supporting science education. All proceeds from ticket sales will support the Institute’s STEM and STEAM outreach programming. Appetizers, beer, wine, and cocktails will be available.
