As of April 1, 2024, USCIS implemented the proposed fee changes.
These changes were announced several month ago, but you can find the new fee schedule under the FAQs here. Pay particular attention to the changes regarding the I-800a and I-800a Supplement 3. The new fee for the I-800a increased to $920, however, that fee includes biometrics. There is no longer be a separate biometric fee. So, in essence, the fee is decreased, as the previous fee was $775 + $85 per adult household member. Changes to the I-800a Supplement 3 include an additional free extension. Where previously a family could request one free extension, USCIS now offers two free extensions. In addition, a PAP can request two country changes at no cost. The new filing fee for all other Supplement 3 filings is now $455. For families in our guardianship programs (Philippines, Hong Kong, Thailand), please note that USCIS is no longer charging a filing fee for the N-600 (Application for Certificate of Citizenship) following adoption finalization. In addition to the new fees, the USCIS forms themselves will likely also be updated in the coming weeks. Please pay close attention to the footer date on the bottom of the form you are filing, and confirm that the footer date on your form matches the footer date on the most recent version available at https://uscis.gov prior to sending your package. Lastly, the new fees are now in effect as of April 1, 2024. Applications and petitions postmarked on or after April 1, 2024 must include the new fees or USCIS will not accept them. The new filing fee is effective for filings postmarked April 1, 2024, and later. If you are filing an acceptable prior form edition on or after April 1, 2024, you must include the new filing fee. Failure to submit the correct fee will result in your package being returned and a delay in your process. You can find more detailed information here.
