Oak Wash Homes Ribbon Cutting

We’re thrilled to announce the official launch of Oak Wash Homes, providing 32 permanent, affordable apartments for those experiencing homelessness in the Verde Valley! This transformation from a former motel was made possible through the incredible support of our partners, including the Arizona Department of Housing, Home Matters to Arizona, and the Burton Family Foundation. Thank you to everyone who made this vision a reality.

Welcome Kayla

We’re excited to welcome Kayla to the Housing Solutions team as a Case Manager at JoJo’s Place! Kayla brings valuable experience in case management and supporting vulnerable populations. Her passion for social services is deeply rooted in her own lived experiences, driving her commitment to making a positive impact.

We’re thrilled to have Kaylee join the Housing Solutions team as a Sharon Manor Case Manager.

Kaylee first interned at Sharon Manor during her BSW program, then earned her MSW and gained valuable case management experience in Flagstaff before returning to our team. We’re so excited to have her back!

KAFF Cares Social Worker Recognition

We’re thrilled that Miriam Jordan, a dedicated Sharon Manor case manager, has been nominated for KAFF Cares Social Worker Recognition by Program Manager Kelly Wells—well-deserved! Miriam’s compassion and commitment to survivors of domestic violence make a powerful difference. She also serves on the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flagstaff board and is working toward her MSW.

Affordable Rentals

Last month, 28 households (40 adults and 17 children) remained stably housed through our affordable rentals—26 low-income households in Flagstaff homes and condos, and 2 formerly homeless households are now settled at Oak Wash Homes in Cottonwood.

JoJo's Place Transitional Housing

3 households experiencing homelessness moved into affordable, fully furnished studio apartments at JoJo's Place last month. This transitional housing program offers comprehensive support, including on-site case management services.

Sharon Manor Transitional Housing

2 households transitioned from homelessness into an apartment at Sharon Manor last month. These resilient survivors of domestic violence now have access to safe and supportive housing, trauma-informed case management, group trainings, and a children's program to help them rebuild and thrive.

Vouchers for Essentials

3 households from our Sharon Manor transitional housing program used a Sharon's Attic clothing and home goods voucher, allowing them to shop for essential items and furniture at our thrift store. Thank you for donating your gently used items!

Community Loan Center of Arizona

81 individuals received affordable small-dollar loans through our Community Loan Center, promoting stability and helping them avoid predatory lenders.

Window Replacement Milestone

64 windows in 16 Sharon Manor apartments have officially been replaced, thanks to the APS Foundation and generous donors like you! These updates enhance safety, energy efficiency, and comfort for survivors of domestic violence. Funding essential repairs like this can be challenging, and we’re deeply grateful for the support that made it possible. Thank you!

Housing Counseling Support

We’re grateful to Western Alliance Bank for their generous grant funding in support of our HUD-approved Housing Counseling Program. With a certified Housing Counselor trained through NeighborWorks, we provide confidential, one-on-one support to help individuals and families across northern Arizona prepare for homeownership and navigate the homebuying process.

Extending Open Hours

Starting Sunday April 27th, our thrift store Sharon’s Attic will be open Tuesdays through Sundays, 9am to 5pm—closed Mondays only. To celebrate our first Sunday opening, we’re serving fresh-popped popcorn FREE for all our thrifters! Come shop and celebrate with us!
