Newport Restaurant Week:
The Remix Returns April 9-18
Newport Restaurant Week: The Remix returns for another season April 9-18, with area restaurants slated to offer crave-worthy discounts and deals for the duration of the 10-day event. Experience tastefully crafted prix-fixe menus, BOGO options, half-price raw bars, and more from over 60 restaurant offerings. New participants this year include the newly opened Plant City X in Middletown, Blue Anchor Grill in Portsmouth, and Rivers & Rhodes in Bristol.

This year we have partnered with Newport Dine Out, Aquidneck Island's locally owned delivery service. Committed to supporting local restaurants, Newport Dine Out provides delivery service free of charge to restaurants, while their delivery fees for consumers remain transparent.

Show your support for our local dining community by dining indoors, outdoors, through curbside pick-up and delivery.
Warming Blankets
We still have plenty of complimentary warming blankets for any restaurant or outdoor venue to provide to your customers.

Please contact Julie Grant at [email protected] with the amount you would like and we will arrange to have them dropped off to your establishment.

New Pop-Up Visitor Information Center
We are excited to announce we will be opening a Pop-Up Visitor Information Center at 21 Long Wharf Mall in Newport on Saturday, May 1. The 725 square-foot center will offer visitors and residents an array of destination information including lodging options, maps, and guides alongside brochures for local attractions, restaurants, transportation, shopping, and special events.
The center will be open on weekends in May from 10am-5pm and will gradually extend to seven days per week in July, August and September. It will be open seasonally for the remainder of the year. We invite you to stop by once we are open.

Please Note: We will still provide our official visitor map and destination guide. For all other brochures, please contact businesses directly. We will provide you a list of attractions with contact information.

All COVID protocols will be adhered to.

BROCHURE DROP-OFF
Starting Monday, April 19 through Thursday April 22, from 10am-5pm, we will be accepting one box of brochures per business (as storage space is tight) from those in the hospitality industry throughout our nine coastal communities.

Brochures can be dropped off at 21 Long Wharf Mall. Enter through the Marlborough Street parking lot entrance and leave in the designated area. Mention to parking attendant that you are dropping off brochures.

For more information, email Kathryn Farrington.
Virtual Marketing Meeting
It is still too risky to gather in-person for a traditional marketing meeting, so for now we’ll see you on Zoom!

Join us on Wednesday, April 28 at 10:30am for a presentation from Robyn Domber, DCI’s Vice President of Research on “Solving the Mystery of Travel Recovery.” As we look towards the 2021 summer travel season, it’s important to understand the “triggers” that facilitate a return to travel, including the overarching trends and behaviors of travelers, and how these trends will impact a destination’s messaging and marketing activities. Using DCI’s 61 years of experience and original research, this presentation will highlight how the behaviors and preferences of domestic travelers have evolved in light of COVID-19, and how destinations and their industry partners need to respond to maintain and increase their market share in both the short and long term.
