During this time of social distancing, we came up with an idea to keep all LAA members involved in our Association by utilizing their creativity!
Welcome to the first (instructional) installment of the LAA/Sound View Virtual Gallery located on Facebook. Every month, beginning April 1, there will be a new theme. All LAA members have the entire month to post up to two pieces of their art (2D and 3D) to the group section on our Facebook page.
A 1st Place Winner will be chosen each month and a cash prize from LAA/Sound View will be awarded. Winners will be announced on the first of every month on our website (landingsartassociation.com).
Here are the rules:
- You must be a member in good standing of the LAA.
- All artwork must relate to the current theme which you can find in our Newsletter on the 1st of each month.
- Artwork cannot have been shown in any LAA venue at any time. We're looking for pieces no one has seen before!
- Posted pictures of artwork may not include the frame - we want to see just the art.
- No more than two pieces per person per month.
- All entries must include your name, name of piece, medium, size, email address (optional) and/or website address (optional). DO NOT INCLUDE A PRICE. If someone is interested in purchasing your art, they will contact you directly.
- Enter between the 1st and last day of each month beginning April 1.
How to enter or view the entered art works:
- First, you need to take a picture of your work (edit it if necessary) and save it to your computer.
- You must be a Facebook member (join by going to Facebook.com and follow istructions to become a new member).
- Under the Facebook search bar, type in LAA Art Challenge. Once that pops up, click on join. You'll receive an email saying you've been accepted into the Challenge.
- Then go to your Facebook Home Page and in the search bar type in LAA Art Challenge. When it pops up, click on it. It will bring you to the Challenge posting page. This is where you can post your entries and/or comments and also see other artist's entries. You'll see the box that says write something. To enter your piece type in that box your name, the name of your piece, the medium, size, email address (optional) and/or your website address (optional).
- Then click on the photo/video icon below to post your picture from your computer. Once that is complete, scroll to the bottom of the box and click on post and you're done.
- To view all entries, scroll through or click on the word "photos" located on the left side of the LAA Art Challenge Page and all entered pieces will pop up.
To sum up:
- Look for the monthly theme in our emailed Newsletter that comes out on the first of every month.
- Post your themed art on Facebook under the LAA/Sound View Art Challenge
- Check our web page landingsartassociation.com on the first of the month for the prior month's winner.
