LIBRARY NEWS & PROGRAMS
Libraries Save You Money
$12,182.40
$7,920.00
$10,270
Thousands of library supporters, including our own Board of Trustees member Karen Powers, traveled to Albany to meet with legislators on February 27 to discuss the relevance and importance of libraries to our communities. As part of the campaign, we asked our patrons to use the Library Value Calculator on our website to see how much they saved last year. The numbers were amazing! Since the Governor has decreased our library funding in his budget proposal, we needed our legislators to stand up for our libraries and they did! Thank you to everyone that supported and participated in Advocacy Day.
So Happy You Stopped By!
Emmy award winning Soap Opera star Roger Howarth stopped by the library to say hi while on a break from his role as Franco on General Hospital. And we thought Advocacy Day was exciting!
Library staff and trustees with representatives from NY State Senator Pete Harckham's office.
Library staff with Emmy winning actor Roger Howarth (aka Franco) of General Hospital.
Library staff with Assemblyman Kevin Byrne.
It was a busy month at the library with special friends and visitors. Representatives were on-hand from Senator Harckham's office to help seniors enroll in the new Enhanced Star program, while Assemblyman Kevin Byrne helped us celebrate Reading Across America Day. We were all a little star struck when daytime soap opera star Roger Howarth dropped by for a surprise visit.
