Kelly Murray, RN is our Volunteer of the Month for April/May!
Kelly Murray is a ROCK STAR at the Health and Hope Clinic! She really stepped up when our Clinic Manager, Carol Cox had a medical emergency and was out for 2 weeks. Kelly has agreed to continue helping, and has taken on the scheduling of nurses at the clinic. Here is our interview with Kelly, by Will Philips:
How did you start volunteering at the Health & Hope Clinic?
After several calls to many volunteer areas in Pensacola, I started work at the Humane Society last September! It was very rewarding but after personally adopting a dog and cat, I knew I needed to help humans or my home would fill up with furry friends. A friend mentioned Health and Hope for which I researched and I knew I had to try.
What department do you work in at the clinic, and what makes your work meaningful to you?
I work in the clinical area as an RN assisting primary care providers. The appreciation that the patients express is my reward and knowing that I can make a difference in one person’s day by showing compassion.
What skills have you learned from working with the clinic?
Patience, teamwork, listening
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
The beach, reading, bike riding.
Thank you Kelly for being our featured Volunteer of the Month!
