Bloom Hope at Home for CSC Kids" fundraiser

The Bloom Hope at Home Fundraiser benefits CSC Kids, a vital program of the Cancer Support Center that provides free support and resources to local children and teens impacted by cancer. Community support is essential to ensuring these life-changing services remain available at no cost. Through this fundraiser, you can purchase a beautiful 10" Hanging Petunia Basket for $30, with all proceeds directly supporting CSC Kids. It’s a wonderful way to brighten your home while making a meaningful difference in the lives of children facing cancer. Chiro One Wellness Centers

Spring into Wellness with NO COST Staff Appreciation and De-Stressing days

Chiro One Wellness Centers is always excited to support the community with our complimentary appreciation/wellness events for your staff. We provide health educators who come onsite and are available for 2-3 hours over staff lunch times, breaks, or shift changes. When onsite, we setup up in a staff common area and provide the following:


  • Stress awareness screenings/ quizzes
  • De-stressing and Spring into Wellness tips to take with
  • Stretches to reduce tension in the upper back
  • Posture Screenings
  • Sandwiches and healthy snacks


We provide everything needed for the event and a flyer to share with your team leading up to the event as well.

Franciscan Health Olympia Fields

Produce Prescription Program 

Monday, April 28th- Monday, May 19th| 11AM - 12PM

Registration is now open for the Franciscan Health Produce Prescription Program in Olympia Fields, Ill., which aims to assist with chronic disease management.

 

Upon successful completion of the free, four-week program, participants will receive produce vouchers for fresh produce every month for six months.

 

Participants must have type 1 or type 2 diabetes, heart disease or cancer and have moderate to high food insecurity as determined by a screening process and complete a four-week Cooking Matters course. They need not be patients within the Franciscan Health system to participate.

 

The program will meet weekly at Franciscan Health Olympia Fields, 20201 Crawford Ave., GME 2 Room in Olympia Fields for four weeks on Mondays from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Central beginning April 28 and concluding May 19. Poverty: A *Virtual* Discussion with Matthew Desmond

Join us to close out our fourth season with bestselling author Matthew Desmond in conversation with award-winning journalist, Natalie Moore. Desmond is a professor of sociology at Princeton University and author of the award-winning book, Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City. The recipient of a MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship, Desmond was named one of “fifty people across the country who are most influencing the national political debate” by Politico 50 in 2016. His research focuses on poverty in the United States, city life, housing insecurity, public policy, racial inequality, and ethnography. Note:  This event is made possible by Illinois Libraries Present (ILP), a statewide collaboration among public libraries offering premier events. Community Cleanup in Honor of Earth Day and Arbor Day

Saturday, April 26 | 8 AM - 4 PM | Village Hall, 432 W Nebraska St

In celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day, the Village of Frankfort is inviting residents, businesses, and organizations to take part in a community-wide cleanup event on April 26, 2025, to help spruce up neighborhoods, parks, roadways, and the Old Plank Road Trail. This is an excellent opportunity to give back to the community while promoting a cleaner, greener environment. Let’s show our love for Frankfort and the planet!

 

Event Details:

  • Supplies: Garbage bags, gloves, and a T-shirt (while supplies last) will be provided. Volunteers can pick up supplies at Village Hall between April 21-25, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
  • Sign Up: When picking up supplies, volunteers can choose a cleanup location such as neighborhoods, subdivision entrances, along roadways, the trail, or near parks.


After collecting trash, please place it in the right-of-way, at subdivision entrances, along the trail, or near parks for Public Works to pick up.

 

Prizes and Fun!

As part of the event, prizes will be awarded in three categories:

  • Largest Item Collected
  • Strangest Item Found
  • Most Trash Collected

To enter, simply take a photo of your item(s) and email it to slynchey@frankfortil.org by 11:59 PM on April 26, 2025. Winners will be notified on April 28, 2025.

 

Community Service Hours for Students:

Students are encouraged to participate and can earn community service hours for their efforts!
