Caloosahatchee Mindfulness

Can you feel the change? In Florida, the temperature and humidity are rising. The rain is beginning - earlier than usual. Is it me, or did those apartment buildings just pop up like toadstools?! We only need to open our eyes to notice that everything is changing all the time: our community, the news, our bodies. Remembering that impermanence/change is the only constant can help us take the changes less personally.

We have a few offerings to help you cope with change and to hold it a bit more loosely. You might check out our book club offering or the upcoming half-day retreat at Six Mile Cypress Slough - the last one of the season before it turns steamy. We'd love to have a conversation about how meditation can bring or has brought some ease into your life. Hope to see you soon!

Mindfulness Book Club

We are reading Your Heart Was Made for This: Contemplative Practices for Meeting a World in Crisis with Courage, Integrity, and Love, by teacher Oren Jay Sofer. Truly a timely book! Our group, which is free to members, reads the book together and shares our thoughts and insights as we read. It's unlike any other book group you may have experienced. Join us!

For information on joining the group by Zoom and the next book to be discussed,

call or text (941) 888-0116 or email caloosahatcheemindfulness16@gmail.com

The book club is free to all Caloosahatchee Mindfulness members.

Fridays, Take a Time Out Meditation with Maggie

These online meditations are offered by Maggie Stevens, Caloosahatchee Mindfulness Chair. Every Friday morning and evening at 10:00 am and 5:00 pm, meditation sessions include a 20-minute meditation with initial guidance and then silent sitting. After the meditation, there is a group discussion, 5 minute silent reflection, and then a thought for the week and check out. These meditations are offered at no cost, and no experience is necessary.
