What Is Shepherds Fold?

Throughout April we are collecting items for men at Shepherds Fold along the mission wall including:

A new laundry basket
Twin comforter and sheet set
Pillow
2 new towels and 2 wash cloths
Full size hygiene packet - soap, soap holder, shampoo, deodorant (powder), toothbrush, toothpaste, toilet paper, disposable razors & shaving cream.
Shower slides

Additionally, Asbury Members serve dinner to the guys at Shepherds Fold on the last Tuesday of each month. Please email Angel McPhearson to get involved.

What Is Kairos?

Throughout the month we are preparing for an upcoming Kairos Retreat Weekend in Montevallo April 25-27 by:

Joining the prayer vigil

Guided Prayer for Kairos

Making cookies

Cookies Directions

Purchasing $5 meal tickets
Children can decorate placemats

More Ways to Get Involved

Feed His Sheep

The Church of the Reconciler has requested our help in feeding their congregation on the 4th Sunday of each month after their service. Meals are for 60-75 people and must come ready to serve.

Please review the available dates and plan with your Sunday School class or small group to be a part of this exciting serve opportunity.

Virtual Help

Asbury has the honor of stewarding Faith in Action, our local need response program. Clients apply for utility bill assistance and receive additional help. We need one person who can help us maintain records of clients who receive assistance and help us import information into our charity-tracking software. Hands of Christ walks with individuals long term to help them get on their feet. We are looking to add a few more compassionate individuals to this team of volunteers.

Prayer Mountain Cleanup

Each year, more than 100 people gather at Prayer Mountain to celebrate the Easter resurrection at dawn. This year, we invite you to join us in making the space beautiful and welcoming for everyone.

Date: Saturday, April 12

Time: 1:00 p.m.

What to Bring:

Water bottle
Work gloves
Eye protection
Tools (gas or battery-operated – there is no power on the mountain)
Weed eater
Blower
Hedge clippers
Loppers
Wheelbarrow
Rake
Shovel
Or simply bring yourself and a willingness to help!

This is a perfect opportunity to serve alongside your Asbury family and prepare a sacred space for an inspiring service.
