Monthly Scoop!

In April, we officially surpassed 100 remote workers who have participated in our Remote Shoals program! As we approach the fourth anniversary of Remote Shoals, we are still blown away by the support and recognition this program receives. We are also continually grateful to every person and family who takes a chance on our community. Like many other folks, we truly believe The Shoals is the most incredible place to live. Stay tuned for more updates!

We attended a Rocket City Trash Pandas baseball game with our Remote Shoals family this month! It was an excellent opportunity to get folks together and enjoy the "Great American Pastime."

Mackenzie Cottles, Marketing & Communications Specialist, completed the Shoals Chamber's EMERGE: Leadership Shoals program. This new program is an extension of the Leadership Shoals program that targets the next generation of professionals. 

Rob Jones, Project Manager, and Mackenzie Cottles recently completed programs hosted by Tennessee Valley Authority Economic Development.


Rob graduated from Rural Leadership Institute, and Mackenzie from Workforce Institute.

Shoals Spark finals, a program of Shoals Shift, occurred on April 6th! This event is an idea and pitch competition for local students. Finalists were chosen out of 84 submissions!


We immensely enjoyed listening to all of the wonderful ideas from the finalists! The Shoals' future sure is bright in their hands.


Shoals Shift is a creative effort to attract, nurture and promote The Shoals creative & tech economy through collaboration and to promote & support sustainable growth.

The Shoals Employment Growth Program is designed to encourage full-time employment growth through a streamlined process that provides assistance to eligible applicants offering new employment opportunities for Shoals citizens. Shoals area for-profit companies that operate under certain business activities listed in the North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) can be reimbursed up to $8,000 for each new qualifying full-time employee hired, up to ten new full-time employment positions per year.

The purpose of the Shoals Manufacturers' Association (SMA) is to foster a working relationship among Shoals area manufacturers and to promote a healthy business climate, making it feasible for existing companies to expand and/or remain in the Shoals area in a working partnership with the Shoals Economic Development Authority. Shoals area companies involved in the manufacture of products and parts for profit are invited to join SMA.​
