Our industry continues to be affected by current and future threats surrounding Coronavirus/Covid-19.
This year’s manufacturing and transportation issues have caused several price increases on feed ingredients. Vitamins have moved the most. Likely more with BASF indicating they are having production issues at their vitamin A plant. While supply chain issues have begun to decrease, prices are holding or going up as increasing inventory is a priority for many customers.
Looking ahead: As people are traveling less, along with crude oil at rock bottom prices the amount of Ethanol produced is dropping. DDGS will go up in price, soybean meal and other items may be used more in diets. So over the course of the year this could create more demand for Threonine and Methionine while decreasing some demand for Lysine and Tryptophan.
Thank you for your help and understanding as we deal with so many changes in our work and personal lives. At this time we are running business as usual. Our Delivery abilities have not changed yet. With that being said, we would encourage you to have extra inventory on hand in case our supply chain is affected. We currently have a good inventory on most items and hope that this will continue.
