🌸 Hope is in Bloom 🌸

Early Bird Registration Drawing through April 14!

We can hardly contain the excitement as we count down to one of our most exciting events of the year. Join us on Thursday, May 14, at the beautiful Crest Center for Hope is in Bloom — a luncheon of inspiration and fundraising celebrating 25 years of providing accessible mental health care in Western North Carolina.

Keynote speaker Dr. Kevin Snyder — bestselling author and mental health advocate — will present "Many Affected, Few Talk: The Journey from Silence to Hope." Tickets are $50 and include a catered lunch.

🎉 Purchase your ticket by Tuesday, April 14, at midnight, and you'll automatically be entered in a drawing to receive a copy of one of Dr. Snyder's books at the event.

Seating is limited, so be sure to register by noon on April 30!

Mental Health Moment

April is National Stress Awareness Month, and it's a good time to pause and check in with yourself. Stress and anxiety are often used interchangeably, but they're not quite the same thing. Stress is typically a response to an external trigger — a deadline, a conflict, or a big change — and tends to ease when that situation resolves. Anxiety lingers even when the stressor is gone, showing up as persistent worry or unease that can feel hard to pin down. Both are real, both matter, and both deserve attention.

The good news: relief doesn't have to be complicated. Even small, consistent actions — a short walk, stepping outside, calling a friend, or simply naming what you're feeling — can help your nervous system reset. If you're looking for a starting point, check out the Grounding 101 and Slowing Down episodes of our very own Soul Sessions podcast. And if stress or anxiety has been feeling hard to shake on your own, talking to a counselor can help. If you or someone you know is uninsured or underinsured, give us a call to learn more about how we might support you.

There are many styles and traditions of meditation — and we hope you find this one helpful. Mindfulness meditation has its roots in ancient wisdom and can help reduce stress levels, increase awareness, and improve mood and relationships when practiced regularly. Click the button below to join Adam as we explore the why and how of Mindfulness Meditation, then practice together for five minutes. Note: There is also a 10-minute standalone practice recording available anytime. Tune back in mid-month on Apple Podcasts or Spotify for Episode 11 with special guest and new All Souls therapist Carolina Robles, LCSW — as she and Adam share skills for navigating overwhelm.

We're looking for a dynamic, compassionate, licensed therapist to join our team in a full-time role based primarily at our new Burnsville satellite office, with additional time in our Asheville office and select community partner sites. We're seeking an NC-licensed LCMHC, Psychologist, LCSW, or LMFT with at least 3 years of outpatient experience — experience with couples and specialties like CBT, DBT, IFS, or EMDR is a plus. If this sounds like the right fit for your values and skills, or you know someone who would be well-suited, click below to learn more, apply, or share!

We also want to thank everyone who helped create such a lovely time last month at our Fairview-area dinner! Attendance was good despite the surprise spring snowstorm, and our volunteers and therapists helped everything run so smoothly. Our hosts at the Covenant Community Church were incredibly welcoming, and the food from Del Vecchios was delicious, as always!

Spring Green Ribbon Society Reception

The weather was perfect for our Spring 2026 Green Ribbon Society Reception on March 26! Featured speaker Kevin Westmoreland of Corner Kitchen and Chestnut restaurants shared poignant personal and professional insights on the life-changing impact of mental health care. Simply Salads & Charcuterie by Betty provided a stunning grazing table, and the Capital Club's setting and staff were absolutely wonderful. Thank you to our Green Ribbon Society Members and everyone who made the evening such a success. Click here to enjoy more photos of the night.

Welcoming Jean Rowe, LCSW

We are so pleased to have welcomed Jean Rowe, LCSW, to the All Souls therapists team! Jean joined us back in October and has become a wonderful addition to our community.

Jean is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Journal Therapist, licensed in North Carolina and Georgia. With deep roots in Henderson County, she brings a personal connection to the communities we serve.

Jean sees clients at our Arlington Street office and — thanks to an Episcopal Diocese of WNC Recovery grant — has recently started serving the Bat Cave, Chimney Rock, and Lake Lure areas on Thursdays. People living in the Gorge or affiliated with the Church of the Transfiguration in Bat Cave are eligible for free services through this grant. To learn more, please call our office at (828) 259-3369.

Early bird tickets for our 2026 Mental Health Matters 5K: Walk/Run for Awareness go on sale this month — but only for one week!
