Mayor's Message
Aug 2018

Happy spring, neighbors and friends!

As temperatures rise and the days get longer, I hope you're able to take advantage of the outdoor amenities we have right here in our City.

Did you know there are 74 acres of parks and 560 acres of open space to explore? This year, we're also taking on a larger, more active role in parks and recreation services, working closely with the Castle Pines North Metropolitan District to more than double the length of the trail system, give Coyote Ridge Park a major update and build an upscale, outdoor fitness court.

We're also expanding our special event offerings to include family-friendly movie nights, an outdoor concert, pizza parties in the park and a new spring event called the Egg Scramble taking place on Saturday, April 20.

These events are in addition to the 2nd annual charity gala, Unmasked, taking place at the beautiful Haven in the Pines to benefit Mental Health Colorado on June 22 and the always-popular events produced by the Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce such as Food Truck Frenzy, Party in the Park and Run Through the Pines.

Download our handy event calendar at castlepinesco.gov/events so you don't miss out on all the fun!

I look forward to seeing you out on the trails and enjoying our fun community events this spring.

Mayor Tera Radloff

Don't Step In It!
... pick up after your pets, please

The springtime weather means more residents are enjoying our outdoors space--along with their furry friends. Please help keep our parks, trails and sidewalks clear of pet waste by picking up after your dog. All parks within the City require that your dog remain on a leash.

If you're looking for more space for your pet to roam, visit Glendale Farm Open Space  which is maintained by Douglas County and includes a 17-acre off-leash dog park.

Playground Equipment Dedication at Coyote Ridge Park

Event Volunteers Needed

Are you or a family member interested in helping make the City's events great? Volunteers are needed throughout the summer to assist special event staff with set up, clean up, logistics, and more.

The first event of the season is The Egg Scramble, a new spring egg hunt on Saturday, April 20 at The Ridge driving range. Volunteers are needed from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and will help distribute eggs, set up and pick up after the event. There is also an opportunity for a community member to dress in a festive bunny costume for a fun photo op.

High school students looking for service hours and adults are invited to contact Jolene Richardson, Event Coordinator, at jolene@castlepinesco.gov for more information.
