Amgen, one of the world's leading biotechnology companies, is bringing its Capability Center to Westshore and will soon occupy four floors of Corporate Center One, managed by Cousins Properties and located at 2202 N. West Shore Blvd. The 136,000-square-foot facility will begin operating in October 2017, ultimately adding 450 employees by the end of 2018. MORE
New Waterfront Current Hotel Breaks Ground on Rocky Point
The groundbreaking of a 10-story, 180-room boutique hotel located on Rocky Point took place las t week with Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and representatives from hotel developers Lifsey Real Estate Holdings and project partner Pinnacle Hotel Management . Current , which will be the Tampa Bay region's third Autograph Collection by Marriott  property, is scheduled to open in 18 months and will feature waterfront rooms, event space, a rooftop terrace and fitness center. Local retail and flavor partnerships include Oxford Exchange and Buddy Brew . VIDEO
Creative Contractors Inc. and healthcare real estate developer NexCore Group installed the final beam last week on the innovative new Women's Care Florida, Women's Care center located at 5016 W. Cypress. The three-story, 63,289-square-foot center is scheduled to open this October.
McKibbon Hospitality hotel management and development company recently completed its 10-000-square-foot office headquarters expansion in Avion Park. MORE
TIER REIT Inc., a Dallas-based REIT, has sold Eisenhower I to an undisclosed buyer. The 130,000-square-foot, four-story office building is located at 4931 George Rd. MORE
Residential Acceptance Corp. has purchased a 7,000-square-foot, two-story building at 5027 W. Laurel St. with plans to double staff and invest $600,000 in renovations. MORE
The Hillsborough Metropolitan Planning Commission is exploring opportunities for a pedestrian and bicycle trail crossing at Dale Mabry Highway. One option is a major pedestrian trail bridge near Dale Mabry and I-275 that would allow pedestrians and bicyclists to travel over the six-lane highway. MORE
New Crosswalks: The Alliance continues our commitment to address pedestrian-related projects and issues in the Westshore area. Through the Westshore Special Services district, new high visibility red brick pattern thermoplastic crosswalks were installed on Cypress Street at Reo Street and Frontage Road.  In the coming months, several more crosswalks in Westshore will be upgraded.
