April maybe mostly known for it’s April showers and Easter celebrations - oh and tax day, but here at Nature’s Treasures our special day of recognition this month is Earth Day on April 22. Also known as International Mother Earth Day this holiday is embraced by over 193 countries. Earth Day was starting to hit its height in the 80’s and the first trade show Nature’s Treasures had a booth in was at an Earth Day Expo in San Francisco with hundreds and hundreds of people. What an experience that was! I’ll never forget unloading that U-Haul and having to walk across the largest trade show I’d ever seen carrying bins of product while Mike was dollying barrels of Amethyst, saying to me as we hurried to set up our booth in time “tell me again why we didn’t get into something light and small like diamonds or emeralds”. Earth Day will always hold a special place in my heart and we do sell emeralds and diamonds now too!
Don’t forget a great time to cleanse your crystals will be on April 7th during the full moon and be sure to watch for the Lyrid meteor showers with the best viewing on 4/21 & 4/22.

Seren O.
Born in Missouri, Seren (on the left in photo) found a new home in Austin, where they have lived since 2007. Seren joined the Nature's Treasures family just over a year ago, but has loved crystals as long as they can remember, especially Aura Quartz and Opalite, and aspires to be a tarot reader and personal crystal shopper in Florida. Outside of the crystal world, Seren loves anime and recently attended PensaCon in Pensacola!

Toré Sol - April's featured Artist is an Austin native raised in Washington state and had moved back in 2016 after graduation. Toré started doing energy readings & healing in 2020 which eventually led to the rekindling of their passion for painting. Toré primarily uses acrylic on canvas following more of an abstract/paint pour theme. Majority of their work is custom Abstract Aura Paintings. They start by taking a polaroid with a neutral background, then meditate with the photo to visualize the person's aura colors & patterns within the auric field. This energy is then painted and reiki charged to promote self realization and healing wherever the painting is hung. |
