Bluetooth technology has significantly increased the usefulness and satisfaction of people with hearing aids. As good as the hearing aids are, we are still reliant on a lot of technology to work perfectly and we know that rarely happens.
If you have Bluetooth hearing aids and they are not connecting to your phone either for phone calls or apps, completely power down your phone for 5-10 minutes and your hearing aids (open the battery doors or place them in your changer). Turn your phone on and then your hearing aids. Very often, this will resolve the issue. Sometime the phones get bogged down and need a little time to refresh themselves.
We are hearing that the sound quality of iphone 11 and 12's is not good with hearing aids. Apparently Apple is aware of the problem and is working on it. It doesn't seem to matter which hearing aid is being used so be aware of that when considering upgrading your phone. It is also hit or miss - some people are having issues and some are not.
Captioned Cell Phones
We have had lots of conversations lately about captioning cell phones. There are a few captioning services but the one that seems to work best is called Innocaption.
We are in the process of updated our website so as of April 1, our website will be under construction. We hope to be down only about a month - we will keep you updated as things progress. Thank you for your patience as we try to improve your experience with us!
