Peabody Square: Spring Cleanup 4/13
We're coming together as a community on Saturday, April 13th, to cleanup Peabody Square. Peabody Square is the public space at the heart of our Ashmont neighborhood. After the recently revitalized work, we're excited to take advantage of the beautiful new benches and game tables as the warmer weather arrives. Help us get the Square ready for Spring. 🌱

From 9am to noon we'll pick up litter, remove graffiti, plant annuals in the Ashmont MBTA bed, and generally freshen up the Square. Plan to wear comfy clothes and bring garden gloves if you have them. We'll meet on the MBTA plaza at 9am.

We're grateful for the generous support of Boston Parks and Recreation Department, Boston Public Works, and the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services for this cleanup.

Can't make our Spring Cleanup but want to help out? There are plenty more opportunities to volunteer. Consider getting involved with your neighborhood association or jumping into one of the Boston's upcoming Love Your Block May service days !
Peabody Square Revitalization Ribbon Cutting 4/26
Join us to celebrate the beautifully Revitalized Peabody Square Plaza! On April 26th at 11:00am city officials will join us for a ribbon-cutting to formally open the revitalized Peabody Square Plazas.

Funding this beautiful new space was truly a community endeavor. Greater Ashmont led a crowdfunding campaign with Patronicity that secured donations from 135 friends, neighbors, and Dorchester small businesses! This allowed the project to secure matching funds from Mass Development’s Commonwealth Places Fund, the Boston Main Streets Foundation, and additional support from institutional donors - the Martin Richard Foundation, Peregrine Group and Trinity Financial. Finally, the Amelia Peabody Charitable Fund awarded us an additional grant toward these efforts. The total raised for this project is $96,430!

We at Greater Ashmont Main Street are deeply grateful for to the many partners who rallied together to make this vision a reality and incredibly proud to present this beautifully redesigned public space. We look forward to this truly public space at the heart of our neighborhood being used by our entire community for years to come.
