The Dorothy and Jim Clunan Lecture Series
Endowment appeal continues
In honor of Acadia Senior College's founders, the Dorothy and Jim Clunan Lecture Series on Cultural Understanding and World Affairs will present a distinguished, nationally-recognized speaker with expertise in the areas to which the Clunans dedicated their lives: foreign affairs, civil discourse, the arts, and senior learning.
To underwrite the annual lecture series, the board has established a dedicated endowment, which offers an opportunity to support this annual event, and also to make a contribution in memory of or in honor of not only the Clunans but also ASC instructors, students, volunteers, or others who have touched your life.
Contributions can be made online or by check. Please indicate that your donation is for the lecture series.
Watch for more announcements about the inaugural presentation this fall with Dr. Anne Clunan.

There's a whole lot of birding going on...
Last month, about 30 members joined Seth Benz, Bird Ecology Director at Schoodic Institute, on two different winter bird-watching outings. More than 25 species of birds were observed, including Common Eider, Great Cormorant, Killdeer, American Black Duck, Red-breasted Merganser, Horned Grebe, and White-winged Scoter.

Next, Michael Good's Birding the Gulf of Maine class met last week on a chilly, snowy morning in Lamoine. Luckily the birds didn't mind the cold and the group observed lots of birds including a rare Barrow’s Goldeneye. Here are a few pictures from class members and a pileated woodpecker captured by Michael Good at Sieur de Mont:
